I’ve only been to two places so far, but I’m already torn over the surgical method. 1. At GYS, they said a closed approach should be fine, and they would also proceed with cartilage repositioning. 2. At DR, they said both closed and open approaches are possible, but if cartilage repositioning needs to be examined delicately, they recommend an open approach. My first surgery was done with a closed approach, so I don’t have a scar. I don’t want to create a scar when removing it, but since I’m doing it anyway, I’m wondering if I should do an open approach and get more delicate cartilage repositioning. For reference, I only had L-shaped silicone inserted, so they said the surgery itself would be simple.
