I went to the hospital and put on the green surgical gown over the clothes I’d worn there, and went into the operating room and lay down. But the operating room... it was my first time ever going into one, so I thought it would be like the kind you see in dramas like New Heart, but it was much simpler than I expected...; When they put eye drops in, as time went on it started to feel tight and sore. I was lying on the operating table, and in the middle of that they were consulting with me.. At first I was nervous, but later the nervousness turned into irritation.. But the moment the doctor and the nurse came in, I got nervous again.. Before starting, they kept flipping my eyelids inside out~ I don’t know why; The doctor said anesthesia is half the procedure. But the anesthesia was tolerable. Just a little sting? I thought of it like getting a pimple squeezed and got the shots lol But the anesthesia they inject near the nose did hurt a little more. Still, after getting one shot on the right and one on the left and massaging it so the anesthetic would spread, the next shots either didn’t feel like much or hurt lessㅎㅎ I don’t even know how many shots I got ㅋ At first I felt something cold, and I thought, is this where they’re cutting with a scalpel? If this is what surgery feels like, I’d be fine with that I thought, but they were just drawing the line with something lol;; Overall the surgery didn’t hurtㅎ To put it simply, there wasn’t that feeling of being cut~ It was just more like the eyelid being pulled, and when I closed my eyes with the stretched eyelid it turned yellow and when they were burning off fat, it really didn’t smell like grilled squid but like the smell of something completely burning. Ugh~ But smell aside, when they used that machine it made a ‘tap tap’ sound. I’m scared of sounds, so I kept flinching and jerking without even being in pain lol; When I look at you all, I thought, ah, at this point you’d think this is what’s happening and then that’s what they do, but for me, thinking about what they were doing affected me more, so I kept trying to think of something else, but then my attention would go back to my eyes ㅜ There was the sound of scissors snipping away ㅜ The sounds were so scary. They didn’t even play music for me when I was having it done, so sob sob ㅜㅜ The only thing I had to focus on was the sounds of the surgery.. ;; ㅜ In the middle, they told me to open my eyes, and every time the nurse next to me was holding the surgical tools, I could see them, and just seeing the tools was terrifying. So again I thought to myself.. ‘Couldn’t they just put the tools out of sight ㅜ’ I was scared, so I deliberately looked upward so I wouldn’t see them, sob sob ㅜ The feeling of the eyelid being stretched is so awful, really really ㅜㅜ Feeling like it’s being cut and stretched ㅜ I had the surgery with only local anesthesia, no sedation, and it seemed to take a little over 2 hours. It was left blepharoplasty + inner corner + full incision~ They worked on the right side a bit, then moved to the left, and I kept wondering but held back from asking, then finally asked: ‘Is the right side finished?’ The doctor said, ‘It’s not that simple of a surgery. It isn’t finished yet.’ And I went, sob ㅜ so the relief that one side was done went far, far away~~ After finishing the surgery one way and another, they took photos, and the eyes compared with how they looked before surgery were completely different. Looking at myself reflected in the camera lens, I looked fox-like, so I just snorted with a laugh lol;; After that, they put gauze or something on with tape and I went to the hospital today and had it removed.. Actually, I took it off yesterday because I was too curious lol But I only took off one side at a time to check, and except for that, it stayed on most of the time, so I didn’t think much of it, but today I looked and went, yikes -;; ‘Is this really me..’ The surgery didn’t hurt, but once the anesthesia wore off after the surgery, it hurt terribly really, just -ㅅ- So in the end I remembered the medicine, ate some tteokguk deliciously and took the medicine right away, and then it didn’t hurt; I kept thinking, ‘I should have taken the medicine sooner..’ Everyone, when it hurts, take your medicine early and reduce the pain; It hurt so much yesterday, but today it doesn’t hurt. It’s clean and calm; It just feels like it’s pulling when I open my eyes wideㅎㅎ It’s bearable lol Yesterday I was so scared I couldn’t even look down at all and only looked straight ahead ㅋㅋ but today it’s nothing. I fell asleep while doing cold compresses and when I woke up, my mom and dad weren’t there. So I asked my younger sibling, ‘Where are mom and dad?’ My sibling said, ‘They went to the department store.’ So I, not even knowing what I looked like, said, ‘Me?’ -ㅅ-ㅋ With these eyes, where on earth was I supposed to go lol I felt so fine that I forgot what condition my eyes were in ㅋㅋ Maybe because I’d just woken up from sleep, but ㅋㅋ I was looking at my surgery from yesterday and worried that the inner corner had torn open, but when I looked closely it was holding together just fine. They said they’d stitch it from the inside so there’d be no scar, and even I had to look for a long time to find where it was stitched before I found it ㅋㅋ;; I’m so happy that it probably won’t leave an external scar ㅋ Ah, and after the surgery yesterday, my right eye was cloudy and I couldn’t see, but after a little time passed, it all came back ㅋㅋ People like this, don’t worry too much lol Yesterday and today, until not long ago, I really looked exactly like a sausage, but with cold compresses done properly, the swelling clearly went down where you could see it. Yesterday I was so scared I couldn’t even blink properly and was almost only looking straight ahead, but now I’m just blinking away ㅋㅋ I liked the feeling of the skin folding so much ㅋㅋ When I felt that sensation, it really hit me that I was getting double eyelids ㅋㅋㅋ Do your cold compresses diligently!! Diligently ㅋㅋ Ah, actually, instead of black, it’s more like silver? and I can’t see the thread ㅋㅋ It got buried in the swelling, and the inner corner was stitched so it wouldn’t show ㅋ Honestly, surgery itself wasn’t painful, and most of it was fear~ Maybe because I’d seen so many photos of people’s surgeries before, when the doctor said, ‘Even if the swelling is big, it will go down to one-third,’ I came home and looked at my eyes and didn’t think, ‘Whoa.. how.. what is this ㅠㅠ it’s a complete monster, ah is this surgery messed up.. how..ㅜ’ but rather, ‘Ah, the swelling is smaller than I expected.. could this end up being a hidden double eyelid? Hmm..~’ lol -ㅅ-;; I ended up writing almost everything all by myself because I was bored lol It seems like every time I remember something, I keep revising and adding more, so the story keeps getting longer and longer ㅋ;
