Surgical direction I wanted: * No implants (no silicone, no donated costal cartilage) * No autologous costal cartilage, no autologous dermis * I wanted a safe surgery with minimized side effects, without being greedy * Shave the hump as little as possible (to prevent open roof deformity) * Osteotomy only minimally if needed (to prevent nasal airway blockage) * Use ear cartilage and septal cartilage appropriately in small amounts (septal cartilage = prevent nose collapse / ear cartilage = prevent ear shape deformation)
Nose shape I wanted: * Straight-to-slightly-curved line (close to straight) * Absolutely XXX to a flashy nose, pointy nose, or witch-like nose * Definitely a natural nose, a nose that feels like my own(?) * Nasal tip = I prefer a rounded nose line, not pointy (LE SSERAFIM Huh Yunjin) * For photos, I showed Huh Yunjin’s photos, and for the rest I showed photos I edited myself (the before-and-after photos I uploaded)
Pre-surgery consultation: * Nostrils = my nostrils are originally small and narrow, so if the nasal tip is raised too much, the nostrils could become an “11”-shaped nostril shape → they said they would make it well while considering that part * Septum = after a CT scan, my septum was slightly deviated but usable, and there was enough septal cartilage; still, they decided to use ear cartilage too * They praised me after seeing the photo I edited, saying I did well hahaㅋ * During the consultation, they kept touching my nose like clay ㅎㅋㅎㅋㅋ lifting it, pressing it down, pressing both sides ,,ㅋㅋㅋㅋ I know it was probably to examine my nose shape in detail, but it was just funny * Their way of speaking was also calm and gentle
Surgery review: * I heard rhinoplasty causes a lot of swelling and bruising, but I had almost none. The swelling was only on my nose and around my nose, and the only bruising I had was yellow bruising. When I went to have the cotton removed from my nose, the director and other staff were all really surprised * Bleeding was only heavy on the day of nose surgery, and there has been no bleeding since the nasal cotton was removed * I could sniff-sniff right after the cotton was removed from my nose * Nose shape = I’m hearing that I look like Pinocchio ,, I heard the nasal tip will come down over time, but honestly I like the current heightㅠㅠ I hope it doesn’t go down any further ,, but they say I look like Pinocchio ,, * I’ll know the nose shape after the splint comes off, but overall I’m satisfied. The nostril shape isn’t perfectly symmetrical, but I think it looks pretty
For reference, I live overseas, so I didn’t have many chances to visit clinics in person, and I only did a lot of online research In the end, I had the consultation and surgery on the same day I’m going to get the splint removed tomorrow, and I’ll add photos after the splint is removed later!
