Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-review

After nose revision surgery (a long journey...)

I've almost been on this community for 2 years now..

Sigh~ I and the people around me weren't really interested in cosmetic surgery. But suddenly, I started wanting to do my nose. I thought that if only my nose were a little straight and refined, my face would look prettier. So I just got a recommendation from a hair salon owner I knew... And I went to a small clinic somewhere in Gyeonggi-do ..ㅠ That's where the bad luck of my first procedure began.... It was my own fault for being foolish and not doing enough research~ Anyway, my nose had a hump, was a bit wide, and was upturned, so they were going to shave the hump, insert Gore-Tex into the bridge, shave the sides of the nose a bit, and use the septal cartilage to raise the tip. But since he wasn't a specialist, he didn't even shave the sides properly, couldn't bring the nose down, and only called in a junior doctor to shave the hump, insert Gore-Tex, and raise just the tip with septal cartilage. Then a few months later, I found out that the surgery had caused my septum to become deviated........ And I also found out that I had intranasal synechiae, where tissue inside the nose sticks together. On top of that, the external shape of my nose was still upturned and wide.. since they left all of that unresolved.. it basically meant cosmetic surgery for nothing. I looked in the mirror every day wondering when it would come down.. and for almost 1 year I cried every day, no exaggeration, while consulting with about 40 plastic surgery clinics and ENT clinics, mainly in the Apgujeong area and university hospitals. I went to all the doctors who were called the best doctors among them, but every single one said my nose was too badly damaged and they didn't think they could handle it. I couldn't even think about cosmetic surgery at all. I couldn't breathe comfortably, and for a year I couldn't properly taste food either. I just needed an ENT specialist.. because the functional problem was so serious.. that had to be treated first. Anyway, my nose was so badly damaged that the doctor who ruined it paid for the entire revision surgery and even refunded me, which was surprisingly conscientious. There aren't many doctors like that these days, right? I just thought, people can make mistakes too, and forgave him. In any case, the place he recommended was a clinic in Gangnam called "S". It was a place that really got a lot of severe cases, and was famous for reconstruction, but I wondered if they could really make it pretty too, so I wasn't eager to go. So for another year, while working, I went around to five university hospitals several times, 고민하며 알아보며.. looking for a place that was good at both nasal function and aesthetic rhinoplasty.. It was a huge struggle. I was determined to finish everything on the second surgery.. So I made an appointment with the ENT department at S University Hospital. I went to a doctor known as one of the ENT best doctors, but maybe because he didn't do much cosmetic surgery, he rejected my nose in all sorts of ways. Since every doctor said my nose was difficult... There was nowhere else to go.. so I just went to the hospital recommended by the doctor who did my nose, made an appointment, and went ahead with it. There, it was under sedation, and because the doctor was quite busy, the consultation was short. I really wasn't in my right mind, with the consultation while getting an IV. The consultation covered solving the functional problems, lowering the nose, shaving the sides of the nose, raising the nose a bit, correcting the twisted front view of the nose, and shaving the glabella, just as I had planned before. Then I went into the operating room, lay down, and they covered me with something, and ah. Only then did I realize I hadn't told them about removing the columella, so I told the nurse. A minute later (it didn't even seem like I had been anesthetized..) I opened my eyes and the surgery was already done, and I was lying in bed. By the look of it, the 3-hour surgery was already over. My nose was not like an ordinary nose but was extremely damaged, so there was a lot of bleeding and a lot to fix, but they said they had corrected all of it... and that the surgery went well. Still, right after surgery I was very sensitive, and surgery is, no matter what anyone says, about "self-satisfaction," right? But I kept regretting not having asked them to make it as straight and refined as possible during the consultation.. I should have been clear about how much to raise the bridge.. and the more I thought about it, the more it bothered me, until my head felt like it would split from the pain. On top of that, they had packed both sides of my nose tightly with gauze all the way deep inside.. the headache was no joke. I don't think I'd ever suffered like that before.. But later, when I looked at the tip of my nose, it had come down very naturally and looked refined. Everyone says lowering the nose is hard, right.. Anyway, I consoled myself by thinking that if I had insisted too much on making it very slim, it might have looked artificial and even stranger, so maybe it was better that I didn't force my own opinion on the doctor. If there was one thing I regretted, it was only that I had raised the glabella a bit too much... I was so dizzy, and because they had worked deep inside the nose bone and tissue, I had to be hospitalized from the pain and dizziness that felt like everything was falling apart. They used Gore-Tex and ear cartilage as the materials, and my ear hurt more, and because my nose was packed with gauze, the headache was intense. The next day they removed the gauze, but bleeding still hadn't stopped by then, so blood poured out of my nose like water being dumped out. I was so scared that tears came out on their own, and I said to the nurse... "I'm not going to die, right?" ^^; They packed it with gauze again, left it for one more day, and then removed it. This time the bleeding had stopped. Now I'm home, taking antibiotics and applying ointment. Tomorrow they'll remove the stitches. Anyway, they say synechiae can recur easily, so my biggest concerns now are how much this and the swelling at the glabella will go down and whether it will satisfy me. Still, I never knew that messing up my nose the first time would end up tormenting me for 2 years like this. My personality is picky, timid, and full of overthinking, and adding revision surgery for the nose on top of that must be why I spent this so hard. If I thought the timing was right, I should have just done it without overthinking. I hope everyone here is satisfied with themselves and gets a healthy, pretty nose.
