Review of consultation for 2 types of facial contouring at Lavian

I wondered if I needed all 3 types, but in conclusion, they said I only needed 2 types: cheekbones + long-curve square jaw reduction. They very directly told me that my face is wide horizontally and my jaw is broad, so my feelings were a bit hurt..^_^ haha Still, I felt that they analyzed things honestly while examining me, so it was helpful.

At first, I saw the director’s blog and learned about posterior cheekbone surgery, and when I went for the consultation and asked about parts I didn’t understand, they explained them clearly. They also pulled up the CT scan taken before the consultation on the monitor and reviewed it with me!

They said the zygomatic arch originally starts from the front and gradually flares outward toward the back, so the effect on the posterior cheekbone and lateral cheekbone is greater when the far posterior part of the cheekbone is osteotomized and reduced. If that’s done, the facial width narrows a lot, and the before-and-after difference from the front is also large, they said. They also said the cheekbones shouldn’t just be reduced from one angle, but need to be reduced in harmony from each angle to create a pretty shape.

For the square jaw, when I said I wanted to leave a little of the mandibular angle below the ear, they said they could do that. They said these days, almost everyone who comes in for surgery leaves the mandibular angle below the ear to some degree? Instead of cutting everything at once, they go in with a long-curve method that slices thinly, so they said the chance of a secondary angle forming is almost nonexistent. For a frontal-view effect, cortical bone reduction is also important, and they said it is all included in the basic square jaw surgery process. At other clinics, sometimes you have to pay extra for that, but there wasn’t anything like that here.

They also said I had some deep cheek fat, and that doing it together would give a better result. I didn’t put down a reservation deposit separately, but there’s a high chance I’ll book with Lavian!

Anyway, the director’s consultation was really detailed and good ㅠㅠ They considered safety important, and there was no excessive recommendation for treatment..

Oh, and after surgery, the director always checks the progress, and if there are more things I’m curious about or if I have questions after surgery, I can ask the director through KakaoTalk. I think I’ll be able to use it well when there’s something I’m really, really curious about or when it’s urgent.

They said they have general anesthesia, hospitalization available (private room; if you come with a guardian, a 2-person room is also possible), an anesthesiology director on site, and dantrolene available.
