I live in the provinces, and since I was going to have surgery anyway, I thought I should do it somewhere famous and good, so I came all the way to Seoul for consultations. I had consultations at three places: Yeoksam ㅇ, Apgujeong ㄷㄹ Dr. Park, and ㅊㅈㅎ, and I’m planning to have it done during my vacation. First I went to Yeoksam since it was the farthest from where I was staying, and honestly the hospital atmosphere felt a little trustworthy? The nurses were kind, and before the consultation they had me fill out a questionnaire and take photos. The doctor also spent 30 to 40 minutes explaining everything in great detail. There were a lot of people coming for consultations, but maybe because many had come up from the provinces, they were especially thorough. That made me even more confused. They explained both the pros and cons.. The doctor has sharp eyes and speaks rather bluntly, so I was a bit taken aback at first, but after talking more, he seemed sincere. He looked like he would do his best if I had surgery there. They tried to mark the line with something like a toothpick, and I think they did it about ten times. But after the consultation, they said my eyes are very strong-looking and sharp, with both inner and outer corners open, but because my skin lacks elasticity, if I do double eyelids with a buried method, they can’t make the line at the most beautiful height. If they want to make the line at a pretty height, it has to be incision, but then the skin may sag later and not look pretty. In the end, they recommended a double-buried method. But because they explain the pros and cons so thoroughly, it’s even harder. After the consultation there, I was going to go to Apgujeong Dream, but in the end I couldn’t. If I could go to all three places above, I’d get a sense of which doctor is best, but since I couldn’t compare, it’s frustrating. I did think this place was accurate and probably a decent clinic, but I still wanted to compare it with other places too (since I heard it looks too natural and the line is too small..) Ugh, should I go up there again? Also, when you go for a plastic surgery consultation, absolutely go alone.. or go with a parent/sibling, or someone who’s interested in cosmetic surgery and enjoys going around clinics together.. I felt awkward going alone, so I called a friend and met her in Seoul, but the friend I went with got annoyed about going around plastic surgery clinics, and in the end I could only go to one place (even though we’d clearly met so she could come with me to consultations.. what was she even there for? I was anxious about someone cutting into my face, while the other person only seemed to be thinking about finishing quickly and going out to play).. Definitely go alone or with your parents.
