6 places for nose consultation review (very damn long post warning) - go go. n.a…

Wow, I should save this. It’s really well organized. You can see how meticulous you are, and it seems like you already understand the pros and cons of each material and surgical method, so you probably won’t be swayed by a clinic’s sales pitch. And what I agree with most is the nonsense people say about autologous rib cartilage being the last resort or some kind of final material. Maybe they gave it a hard time because they chose not to use it themselves, like the fox and the sour grapes, but if you look at various videos, reviews, and doctors’ comments, there is a reason people recommend autologous rib cartilage. And honestly, I think surgeons who avoid autologous rib cartilage should have their skill reexamined too. If they can’t properly support even with that hard material, then they lose their excuse, and the risks during surgery go up. They’re the kind of people who can’t handle those two things. The cost difference between donor and autologous rib cartilage isn’t that huge when you consider all of this. If a doctor strongly recommends autologous rib cartilage, I doubt they’re making a big extra profit from it. If the gap is excessively large, that’s suspicious too. I’m not saying everyone should always use autologous rib cartilage, but some noses definitely need a stronger material!! Those people go with no implant and regret it terribly, or end up going around in circles, using ear cartilage, or choosing donor rib cartilage by luck and still not getting the shape they want, and it’s frustrating. (Again, I’m not saying donor rib cartilage always fails to hold shape. Please don’t read this in a one-dimensional way and start whining!) One thing I’ll say: if you do a revision, donor rib cartilage is usually not reused and gets discarded. Autologous rib cartilage, on the other hand, is often preserved and reused as much as possible. Why do you think that is?? There are people who get emotional and start ranting about being called a shill or selfish just because you don’t say what they want to hear, but coddling them won’t change reality. Here, get the right information and aim to make the cosmetic surgery you finally decided on succeed, or to finish your revision perfectly, please.

I can’t even imagine lol I’ve seen your nick in other posts too a lot, and your comment is so~~~~ relatable!!! Just blindly... people who say autologous rib cartilage is not okay for primary surgery without any logic are really something.... I already organized everything by clinic on my phone after consultations, what I wrote in the post is only part of it.. there’s more, but writing got tiring so I only wrote part of it, kind of casually.... The doctors, fortunately, since I do have a bridge, almost all recommended no implant. Even the way they fill the step between the tip and the bridge is really different clinic by clinic lol And alar reduction too, some places do only the inside, some only the outside, some do both, and even how far the incision goes on the outside varies by clinic, and depending on where the alar reduction is done, the change in nostril shape is different too The alar rim shape changes depending on how much the tip is raised, and on the side view, the amount of columellar show also varies by doctor, nasolabial angle is adjusted automatically according to the tip, removing the subnasale point, using cartilage, only dissecting the muscle, and so on.. It’s not just the autologous rib scar that’s the issue, from the 3 cm, 4 cm, 5 cm harvest amount, to how many times it’s used, there are doctors who harvest only part of it and leave some behind even if the length is the same, and beyond the aesthetic design part, the surgical details are deep too, because I ask so many questions.. For the functional part too, whether the inferior turbinate is treated only with radiofrequency or actually resected, whether the bony part on CT is straightened, and so on. For the septum too, when straightening it, whether they trim it down, how much they leave behind, there are clinics that use septal cartilage almost like reconstructive surgery with autologous rib cartilage, and so on.. I ask questions that most people don’t ask... I really want the surgery to succeed in one shot lol

[@] Wow, I’m jealous that you’re a candidate for no-implant surgery. I hope the result turns out well, given how thoroughly you researched. Even from the hospitals you’ve visited so far, it looks like you selected carefully, but keep going and write down not just the facts but also your impressions. (I excluded places whenever I felt like, “This hospital seems a bit chaotic.” It’d be nice if you could see the operating room in advance before deciding, but since you can’t, I try to judge the overall operating process and indirectly gauge the doctor’s meticulousness and view on cleanliness.) And probably you already know this, but don’t go to an ENT clinic. Also avoid the “only I can do it, everyone else said no” type. I don’t have much to say on cost issues either, since it doesn’t seem like price is your main concern. Research carefully and come back with good news!

[@Lalaby] Thanks for the advice! But I’m keeping the facts, and even the feeling, to myself personally lol. The surgery will be done by the doctor, but from the coordinator communication onward, the clinics I went to were mostly one-doctor clinics, so the doctor is still the owner and the representative, right? Like I said, I can’t go into the OR, so I also pay attention to things like whether the bathroom or consultation room is clean, or even the supplies and stuff. With one-doctor clinics, the doctor will probably care about that kind of thing too. The interior isn’t a big deal for old clinics since they can look worn out, but besides places where the doctor personally uses a cotton swab to mark the line, there are also doctors who just touch the nose after writing with a pen, or people who use hand sanitizer and then touch my nose and wipe their hands right away. I wrote all that down too lol. Before deciding where to have surgery, I researched enough in advance and narrowed it down to 2 or 3 places, and for the other clinics I went to, even if I didn’t plan to have surgery there, there was definitely something to gain from the consultation, like getting the doctor to analyze my nose or just gathering information from the good reviews, regardless of consultation time lol. Yeah, I’ll do the functional part too, but the cosmetic part is 90%, and for the functional part I just want a board-certified plastic surgeon, no exceptions!! You know what I mean by messy, right lol Yeah, I trust and avoid too lol I probably won’t write posts about the remaining places though lol I’ll do well with surgery and post a review lol It’s still a while away though lol

I'm curious where you'll end up going. I also went to ㅇㅇ and it really was a 3-minute consultation.... They didn't even tell me whether ㅇㅁ-line could come out from my nose.

[@코미녀가된다] 3-minute cut lol I really had seen reviews from people who went there lol I went in thinking I should ask only the questions that mattered to me and get out, because it felt like they’d run out of the consultation room if I didn’t keep talking, but thankfully I got everything asked and answered~ Out of all my consultation experiences, this was the shortest, and not just short, it felt rushed~ Even when they were explaining things, they didn’t even mention what material they’d use at all. I only asked when they said to ask whatever I was curious about lol This was the first place that didn’t mention the material too! Honestly, it really feels like this is a place only for people who absolutely want that ㅇㅁ line and are set on getting surgery there.. I don’t want a flashy style, so I’m skipping ㅇㅇ, but although the consultation was short, she caught something about my nostrils that another doctor missed, so for me it was a consultation I got something out of, and I was satisfied lol The director was nice as a person too lol They’re already so booked up, so I guess demand is high. That’s probably why they don’t do discounts either. I asked the coordinator, and she said the other directors do have discounts, she said lol

[@] The doctor at O-M will probably use donor rib automatically, lol. Especially for a first surgery, it’s even more likely to be donor rib, and he apparently dislikes going all the way to autologous rib.... He doesn’t do functional surgery either.... I’m a bit uneasy now. I wanted autologous rib + functional surgery too, but I like the O-M line, so I’m torn.... If you know of a similar line, please recommend one, everyone

There was no mention of any material at all, so when I asked, they obviously said donated rib cartilage, but when I said I definitely wanted autologous rib cartilage, they were like, “Well, having plenty of material is good,” but they did say it felt a bit excessive lol So autologous rib cartilage is possible too, I guess lol My needs are high, but I don’t think I’m asking for a super flashy nose. Among my in-person consultation list, I don’t think there’s anything similar... I just wanted to see at least one place with a flashy, straight, high-bridge kind of vibe, so I was curious how they would consult on my nose and what it would be like, which is why I went to ㅇㅇ-ㅇㅁ. It’s obvious to anyone that I’m not a huge-breasted type (or am I?) lol And honestly, based on my personality, I probably wouldn’t have been recommended that anyway lol It’s a personal choice, and for me it would be a huge plus, but for someone else it might be a minus

[@체체체리] Since it’s rib cartilage, you’re basically starting at 500 minimum, and the reason mine is a little more expensive than others is because I’m doing 2 functional procedures and alar reduction, so it’ll cost a bit more Which consultation did you book?!

I read every line of the long post and even the comments, and there isn’t a single line I’d skip... I’m glad to see quite a few clinics I’ve never been to and some that I’m planning to go to. I’m actually scheduled to get surgery at k.d too, so could I ask for some advice??? I’ve also been recommended autologous costal cartilage at most of the hospitals I visited, so I’ve decided to use it... I don’t have a nasal bridge either, so they said I definitely need silicone

[@] I’m not really in a position to advise anyone Not experienced enough for that either... For k.d, what I remember is while talking with the coordinator, she said something like: from when it was c.n.j, then c.y, and then you opened k.d, right? When I said I had known director b.w.g since back then, she said, according to the coordinator, that back then if you did autologous costal cartilage, director b.w.g was the one who harvested the rib for director c.n.j’s surgeries. Well, believe it or not, so I don’t know if that’s factual. She really seemed to like autologous costal cartilage. She was totally negative about donor rib cartilage, lol. For me, 100% subjective, not about surgery skill or the result shape or anything, but my chemistry with the director wasn’t really my style, lol.

I went too, and even though people say the consultation is short, I definitely understood why so many people go there lol I'm really curious about your remaining clinics too lol Personally, I wanted to try n.t, but the timing didn't work out, so it's one of the places I still regret not being able to go to.. [@] I started writing because of the ㅋㄱㅋㅋ review, and that's why I probably won't write up the remaining places because it's tiring I'll just keep notes on my phone The ㄴㅌ consultation queue was long too, and because of the doctor's aesthetic style they have a kind of fanbase? layer there. But they mostly do donor rib cartilage, and they do autologous costal cartilage too, but they don't have that many cases~ I'm planning to just go, have the consultation done well, and come back!

[@Panda Nose] No, that’s definitely not it! I still don’t know where I’ll end up having the surgery, but I’ll be using autologous costal cartilage at the hospital I choose, which is obvious, of course. The places I research are either backed up with consultations (popular places) or have good consultations (people who analyze my face and nose well, and so on, based on my own standards lol). There are also places I’ll definitely never have surgery at, but I included them in the list in the first place because their consultations are good and long. From someone else’s point of view, they might think, if you have no intention of ever getting surgery there, why spend time and money on a consultation? Depending on the perspective, I can see why they’d think that. Whether the consultation is long or short, with any hospital, I end up gaining at least one thing, whether I like it or not.. If a consultation costs 20,000 won, then 10 places is 200,000, but compared to the time and money wasted if surgery goes badly, that’s pocket change. I want to settle it in one shot lol
