I’ve had nose surgery a total of 3 times, including this one. The first time was when I was 20. I didn’t know anything, and while having septal surgery at an ENT clinic, they lifted my nasal tip with septal cartilage and placed the lowest-height silicone implant on my nasal bridge, but strangely it looked too high. So I had another surgery to remove only the silicone, and that was where the problem started. The nasal tip area gradually started to turn upward as if it were contracting, and the nasal tip deviated to the left. Some people noticed it right away, and even if they didn’t, it looked so obvious after taking photos that it really stressed me out. Still, it wasn’t easy to make up my mind to have revision surgery, but this time I wanted to look pretty in my wedding photos, so I started looking into revision surgery while I was at it. While researching, I found that Lowell Plastic Surgery was well known for revision surgery, and I heard that Director Kim Jae-yoon had a lot of experience with revision cases, so I went for a consultation. Maybe because he had seen many revision cases, he recognized exactly what the issue was just by looking at my nose, and since this was another revision surgery, we decided to use autologous costal cartilage and secure it with four-layer fixation. Honestly, I was very nervous on the day of surgery. Since it was under general anesthesia, I don’t remember the surgery itself, but when I woke up, my face was packed with gauze and my nose was blocked, so breathing was very uncomfortable. From that day through the next 2 to 3 days, I lived very cautiously. I had to breathe through my mouth, and the swelling and bruising kept increasing, so going outside was out of the question. But it has already been 7 months since the surgery. At first, there was swelling and packing inside my nose, so it was uncomfortable, but as time passed, the swelling gradually went down, and after about a month, it started to settle naturally. Now it feels completely stable, and every time I look in the mirror, I can feel how much it has changed. The line is much more natural than before, and I like the shape of both the nasal bridge and the nasal tip. The reactions from people around me have been really positive too. I often hear that it looks natural and not obvious. Before, I used to worry about my nose every time I took photos, but these days that worry is gone, so I feel much more comfortable and confident. Now when I go out, I can dress up much more confidently than before, and every time I look in the mirror, I can see that my nose line has settled naturally, so I’m really satisfied. Before surgery, I had a lot of worries, but now this change is having a good effect on my daily life, so I’m living happily.
