Right now I’m exactly at the “fan lady” level,. The bandages have been removed. It hasn’t even been a week since the surgery yet. I think the surgery went well. They said my jaw was very strong to begin with, so they shaved off a lot. Among the people hospitalized with me, those who only had jaw surgery didn’t seem very swollen, but my lips became huge, my lips were all split, and it was a total mess. The night of the surgery, I felt like I barely survived. It hurt a lot. Especially on just one side, it hurt like my teeth were sensitive, so I kept getting painkillers. Maybe because I’m now approaching the one-week mark, I don’t even really remember when that was, and I’m just a bit depressed about my face looking like the fan lady, I’ve been diligently doing warm/cold compresses and going for walks, but after sleeping and waking up last night, it feels like a lump has formed inside one cheek, like there’s something inside my cheek. And it hurts. Even when I wear the compression band, that side hurts. Am I okay? Is there anyone like me whose swelling has gone down less on only one cheek and who can feel something inside the cheek?
I’m scared. Please help me. I can’t go to the hospital until Tuesday...
