After my second revision surgery with full-incision double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction, I spent nearly 10 difficult years because of sausage-like eyelids, a high crease, and depressed scars.. (With the ptosis correction, I had functional discomfort from pulling, but a lot of time has passed and the symptoms disappeared.) This time, I’m gathering courage again and going around for consultations for a third revision surgery Based on the information I had collected while occasionally lurking in communities, I went for consultations at ㅌㅇㅅ, ㅇㅇㄴㅋ, and ㅇㅇㅋ(q), three places, and I hope this helps anyone here who is in a similar situation to me! (I’ll use a brief note-style tone below for convenience.) 1. ㅌㅇㅅ (chief director) - There is no spare skin, so lowering the crease is possible through the two-line technique. - Incision would be good for neatly cleaning up the scar, but there is not enough eyelid skin to cover it, so it would not be effective for lowering the crease. - With the two-line technique, the existing scar remains. However, because the adhesions are released sufficiently, even if a scar remains, it will improve compared with now, and it will not look strange when the eyes are closed. - The sausage-like eyelid can be improved. - The eye-opening strength is insufficient, so additional ptosis correction is needed. The functional discomfort from ptosis correction I experienced during the previous revision surgery may have been because Muller’s muscle was damaged, or because the muscle alignment(?) was not done properly. Since time has passed, the Muller’s muscle damage is likely to have recovered, and if the muscle is aligned properly during recorrection without damaging Muller’s muscle, the functional discomfort should not occur again. - Among his own surgical patients, cases showing functional discomfort from ptosis correction are rare. In fact, existing discomfort sometimes improves. - If there is any abnormality such as pain, the ptosis correction can be released early. - Because the possibility of functional discomfort is not high, he does not recommend avoiding ptosis correction itself. To create the eye shape I want, ptosis correction is necessary. = Since I had experienced functional discomfort from ptosis correction before (if I hadn’t known that pulling sensation, maybe it would be different..), I asked various additional questions about the fact that ptosis correction was needed again (whether it absolutely had to be done, etc.). For revision cases, they seem to recommend ptosis correction almost always. The consultation with the director itself was good. He looked at my eyes quite actively, measuring eye height with a ruler and checking eye-opening strength. He also held up the desired design with a stick (it was brief, so it was not to the point of being very meticulous). The consultation time was short, within 5 minutes, but I felt he was trying to be sincere. He seemed confident about his skills, surgical experience, and results, and his attitude in answering questions was firm and smooth, so I trusted him.
I hesitated because it is a large hospital, but the consultant also strongly emphasized the director’s skill and showed me many before-and-after photos of similar sausage-like eyelid cases, so I was tempted. There is a consultation fee of 20,000 won, and the quoted price was very high even considering that it is revision surgery.. AS period: 1 year I’m hesitant about the part where ptosis correction is recommended from an aesthetic standpoint. (Personally, because I’m afraid of side effects, I would prefer not to do ptosis correction again if possible..) Since it is a large hospital, I’m also worried that individualized care may be weak, so I’m still thinking about it.. 2. ㅇㅇㄴㅋ (chief director) It operates in its own standalone building, and maybe because I went for a consultation on a weekday, there were no people waiting. I liked that it did not have a factory-like atmosphere. (The interior was quiet and clean.) The consultation content was almost the same as TS.. (two-line technique) For ptosis correction, he said it could be done slightly if needed, but said it would probably be okay not to do it. The director had a kind impression, and his style was to answer questions calmly.. softly. He seemed skilled. There was something trustworthy about him because he did not seem like someone whose attitude would change after surgery. The consultation time was short, around 5 minutes. The consultant was also kind, which was good, but it was disappointing that there were not many before-and-after photos of similar cases such as the two-line technique. The price was in the middle range (in the 4 million won range). AS period: 2 years 3. ㅇㅇㅋ(q) (chief director) It was the hardest to get a reservation. I was originally told that consultation would only be possible in February next year;; but I checked for cancellations through KakaoTalk and luckily moved up the consultation date. It operates on the 4th floor of a standalone building, and when I went for the consultation, maybe because it is by appointment, there were no people waiting. I liked that there was no factory-like atmosphere. The consultation content was almost the same as the two hospitals above (two-line technique). However, since I said I had functional discomfort from ptosis correction, he did not additionally recommend it. (He said he does not do it in such cases.) He seems to be very safety-oriented. He carefully measured the crease height with a ruler, and used a stick to show the design several times.. I liked that he examined me thoroughly. During the consultation with the consultant, there were many before-and-after photos of similar cases. AS: 2 years The price is on the high side.
