Taylor Community Review

I had only watched videos on YouTube before, but I went in for a consultation. They took photos from the front, 45 degrees, 90 degrees, and with my head tilted back to look at the ceiling. While waiting in the consultation room, I filled out the medical chart on an iPad with a nurse? I wrote everything in detail, and after that, the director came in. I put on a headband, held a mirror, and opened and closed my eyes. He said it was a forehead lift case. He said it would feel like holding my forehead with both hands like this. He said the eyebrows would go up 4 mm, the forehead would go up 2 mm from the front, and in total the hairline would move back 6 mm. Since my forehead is currently on the narrow side, he said making it a bit wider would actually suit my proportions better. I asked about eyebrow asymmetry, but unlike at Labom before, he said it would be right to correct the asymmetry, so I was a bit confused. At other clinics, they said the right cheekbone is larger than the left side of my face and my right eye is also bigger, so if they corrected the eyebrow symmetry, it could actually make things more crooked, and that they should just raise the eyebrows as they were originally... I said my face axis is turned to the left, but he said that when I lift my head, the left side of the forehead protrudes more and the right side is actually recessed, the left cheekbone is larger, the right side is smaller, but the left jaw is actually smaller... hah I’m not a specialist, so I don’t really know... anyway, I guess that’s how it is... He said there probably isn’t another clinic that takes photos and checks them from so many angles like this. He explained by showing various before-and-after photos of patients. He said the swelling keeps going down until one month, so overcorrection is needed, and after one month it stays lifted. He also showed cases of patients who had been followed up for 5 years. Zoom. I asked whether the surgery could improve the developed glabella muscle and whether I would need Botox later, and he said Botox would be good. But he also said you have to actually do the surgery to know, and that even so the glabella muscle isn’t prominent to a severe degree. I asked what happens to smiling with the eyes and facial expressions after surgery, and he said the eyebrows can still move up and down, but because the corrugator muscle between the eyebrows is cut, movement around the glabella and eye area would be difficult. He told me to hold my eyebrows and try smiling, and said it would feel like this... hmm He said the feeling would probably be a bit different from before. I asked whether my existing partial-incision double eyelids could come undone, and he said it happens rarely but probably not. I asked whether the previous inner corner surgery could open even more in the future, and he said rather than that, it would look more like an upper inner-corner widening, and the red part in front of the eyes would seem a bit more exposed. I’m dieting, so I asked whether what was lifted could sink back down, and he said the chance of that is almost zero. It could happen with a full facelift, but if I lose a lot of weight, the eyelids could look hollowed out because the eyebrows are being lifted upward. I also asked whether a longer midface could ruin facial proportions, and he said my face isn’t long; it’s actually round. I’ve been living all this time thinking my face was long... Since my forehead is on the narrow side, this surgery would actually widen it and make the proportions more balanced... When I asked if I wasn’t a difficult case, he confidently said he doesn’t have difficult cases Oh... I could feel the confidence and certainty... He said a difficult case would be something like a person with a wide forehead asking for forehead lifting without forehead reduction, while also wanting the forehead not to get any wider. He said that kind of case is hard. Other than that, nothing is difficult... When I asked whether there would be double vision or vision loss, he said that with his own dual-plane lift design, the chance of those side effects drops significantly, so you can basically think of them as almost nonexistent. He said dry eyes could make things look double because of dry eye syndrome. But looking at the closed-eye photos now, he said there seems to be enough skin, so it should be fine. He also said there are quite a few people whose eyes do not close fully. He said there would be 4 incision sites, and there would be no blood drain bag. The surgery would take about 1 hour. After I bombarded the director with questions, the consultation manager came in and somehow gave off a very professional vibe. She was kind. She said that fortunately the director had identified it as a forehead lift case, and that among the patients who came in today, there were people who were not forehead-lift cases, so she had a hard time sending them back and persuading them I don’t know if that’s true. They said not to take the supplements I’m currently taking for 7 days before surgery and not to take them for 3 days after surgery. They said hair dye and perm solution are harsh, so I should do them at least 7 days before surgery, and only after 6 weeks following surgery. Since they irritate the scalp... I heard explanations like that. I also heard explanations about possible side effects after forehead lift surgery and swelling over time. They explained the 10% reservation deposit and refund policy too. Unlike Labom, the reservation deposit here was refundable. We also talked about the expected surgery schedule, and they said November is the off-season, so I should be able to book the day I want, and that I shouldn’t worry and should go around to consultations with plenty of time. When I mentioned that I’m taking minoxidil, they seemed very pleased. From the hospital’s perspective, that was also more reassuring. Anyway... I went expecting a long wait, but the consultation was fast with almost no waiting. Seeing the director in person, after only watching him on YouTube, felt like seeing a celebrity, and I liked how confidently and certainly he spoke. Since it was in the afternoon, I worried he might look tired, but he was better than expected. I had been considering Labom and Taylor as the top two options, but there are differences in the number of incision sites, whether eyebrow asymmetry can be improved, whether a blood drain bag is worn, and how much the impression changes, so I think I need to think about it a bit more...
