I made a consultation appointment with Director Kim Hak-su and visited, but since his surgery wasn’t finished yet, I consulted with the counseling manager first. Before the consultation, I tied my hair, put on a hairband, and had my face photographed with a camera from multiple angles, including front, 45 degrees, and 90 degrees. The counseling manager explained why I would need to wear a drainage bag, why there would be 5 incision sites, and so on. They seemed to have a lot of pride in the director. When I said I had made consultation appointments at a few other places too, they asked why I had booked so many lololol They said the famous places are already kind of set anyway... lololol It was funny.
While I was talking with the manager, the director came in and the consultation started. He said that I usually use my glabellar muscles a lot, and that my eyelashes touch my upper eyelids, which makes me use my eyebrows more. He said that because my eyebrows keep coming downward, the eyebrow muscles naturally move upward to open my eyes wider. So that makes the forehead look more sunken, and after surgery I won’t use those muscles, so there should be an effect of the forehead looking more rounded. He explained while holding a hand mirror and positioning my eyebrows. He said after surgery it would feel like my eyebrows had moved up about 3 mm from their original position. I asked whether he could also correct the eyebrow asymmetry, and he said my left cheekbone is currently smaller than my right cheekbone, and because of that, compensatory asymmetry has developed in my eyebrows (the arch of the left eyebrow is a bit higher). He said that when my eyes are closed, the eyebrow positions are symmetrical. So if he lifted them differently to match that asymmetry, my facial asymmetry would look worse, so he would lift them equally. I asked whether pulling upward could make my existing double eyelids come undone, and he said no. He said my existing epicanthoplasty would actually look more like an upper canthoplasty, because the double eyelid hidden at the front would show more. I smile with my eyes, and he said there wouldn’t be much difference with that either. He said even if I lose weight from dieting, there is almost no fat in the forehead area, so it won’t come down or change because it’s attached to the periosteum lololol what a relief... I also asked whether my forehead would become much wider or my midface would look longer, and he said there would be a difference of about the 3 mm that the eyebrows go up, and I could think of the hairline as moving back by that much. He said it wouldn’t become extremely long or ruin my proportions, and since I already use my eyebrows to open and move my eyes, other people might not feel a big difference after surgery. A difference only I would know lolol He said my photos probably looked different when taking ID photos versus selfies, because when taking an ID photo, I can’t move my eyebrows freely, so my eyes would have looked different from selfies. In selfies I looked fresher, and he caught that. (Because in selfies I open my eyes wide however I want.) It was fascinating ㄷㄷㄷ I asked whether the glabella could become higher, and he said rather than actually becoming higher, the protruding glabellar muscle would go in, making it look relatively higher. He said the actual nasal bridge does not become higher. I asked whether I would need Botox later for using the glabellar muscles, and he said probably not, and that they give Botox to patients who need it. He said we could watch the progress and decide. He said something about younger patients, but I don’t remember this part well Since he came into the consultation right after finishing surgery, he must have been busy and distracted, but he still answered everything kindly and didn’t seem annoyed, which was nice. Because he answered with conviction, I trusted him.
This was my first consultation, so I don’t really have anything to compare it with, but I felt confidence and professionalism from the attitude and atmosphere. They said the surgery cost is 3.85 million won. That’s the regular price. The reservation deposit is 400,000 won and is non-refundable. They said they can’t just schedule multiple surgeries in a disorganized way, so since it’s an appointment, there’s nothing they can do. So they asked me to think carefully and decide on the surgery schedule.
