I got a lot of help from this community, so I’m leaving a review hoping it might help someone else too. I went to a total of 4 clinics. 1. ㅂㅌㄹㅇ This was the first clinic I went to. They pressured me to pay a deposit, and if you set a date, it’s non-refundable. Since it was my first time, I didn’t know, but after going around to other clinics, I realized this consultation felt the least sincere. I had a consultation with the head director, and he said it would be good to do muscle tying, but the consultant said I didn’t necessarily need it and that the effect would still be good (??.... For scars, they said they make three small openings under the chin, but they talked as if scars would definitely remain, so I was hesitant. 2. ㅅㅅ I visited after hearing they carefully check the fat layer with ultrasound. I booked with Dr. ㄱㅈㅎ, who seemed to be the most famous, but suddenly they said he couldn’t because of another matter and switched me to another doctor on the spot...;; That doctor looked at the ultrasound and said I needed liposuction, muscle tying, and even salivary gland excision because my salivary glands were large... This place already felt expensive and very commercial compared with others, so I had only gone there to get the ultrasound, but personally, after seeing the ultrasound, I felt it wasn’t really worth paying 30,000 won for, and the quoted price was 10 times the first clinic’s, so after hearing the price I immediately lost all desire to do it. Everyone was kind, but the impression after the consultation was the worst because it felt like they were trying to bundle in everything, even things I didn’t need, and the amount was ridiculous. 3. ㅅㄱ I went for a consultation with Dr. ㅁㅎㅇ. He noticed that my chin looked small because I’m slightly retruded, and recommended fat grafting for the double chin area and filling out the chin volume. However, he said he doesn’t recommend muscle tying to everyone, but in my case it was essential. For incisions, he said liposuction would be behind the ears (my memory is fuzzy, so I’m not sure) and for the muscle tying, there would be about a 2.5 cm incision under the chin. Since the clinic above had said I needed salivary gland excision, I asked about it, and he said they weren’t that large (...) The consultation was the most thorough out of the four clinics, and both the consultant and the doctor were kind. I had heard they do ultrasound, but I don’t know why, I wasn’t told about it and didn’t get one. If he hadn’t said I absolutely needed muscle tying, I probably would have done it here..? After the consultation, I even paid a deposit. There is deposit pressure. They said they give a big discount if you book the same day. But after making the reservation, I realized I had a sense of resistance to the surgery itself, starting with the name “muscle tying,” and I was also really worried about the scar. It seemed like the scar here is on the larger side at around 2.5 cm. So I urgently started looking into other clinics too... 4. ㅌㅌ First of all, there were many reviews saying the doctor is safety-oriented, and when I asked another person here who had liposuction, I received comments several times saying they had it done here and were satisfied. I had already put down a deposit at ㅅㄱ, so I was conflicted but went anyway. First, the doctor’s impression was so x100 good, his eyes looked clear, and he was so kind that I suddenly felt a strange sense of trust....(?) The consultant was also very kind. There was zero deposit pressure. He didn’t bring up double-chin muscle tying first at all, and recommended fat grafting to the chin tip and slight liposuction on the cheeks. I had already been concerned about my slightly uneven cheek line, so when he brought it up first, I was tempted. When I said, “Other clinics recommended muscle tying though~,” only then did he explain that doing it would make the effect better, but for someone like me with a small chin, the effect can’t be hugely dramatic to begin with and has limitations, and liposuction alone should be enough to refine the line, so my trust shot up. I heard he’s a doctor who opened his own clinic after being at ㅂㅌㄹㅇ, and maybe because of that, the scars were the same: three under the chin. But the doctor said he is sensitive about scars, so he makes very small incisions and tries to leave as little scarring as possible. I don’t know if that’s really true, but I felt a bit reassured. The consultation was honestly the most thorough at ㅅㄱ, and ㅌㅌ wasn’t that long, but after going to ㅌㅌ, I felt like I should do it there... In the end, at ㅌㅌ I didn’t do muscle tying, and instead did double-chin liposuction + slight lower-cheek liposuction to smooth out the facial line + chin-tip fat grafting. It’s been about a week since I had liposuction at ㅌㅌ, and there’s still a lot of swelling, so I don’t know the exact result yet, but my double chin is already gone, so I’m satisfied. I wanted to write a surgery review too, but it hasn’t been long yet, so I’ll leave one gradually. I hope this helps~
