Nose Surgery Reviews

3-month review after non-implant rhinoplasty for an upturned nose using autologous costal cartilage

Since I was young, I had an upturned nose, so my nostrils showed too much from the front, which caused me a lot of stress. I knew rhinoplasty could have serious side effects, so I never even considered surgery, but then I became determined to have it done. I went to consultations at several places, joined online cafes, and researched, then had a consultation for my first non-implant rhinoplasty at a clinic. My upturned nose had always been a major complex, and during consultations I was told that if I wanted to lower it as much as possible so my nostrils would show less, costal cartilage would be needed. I worried a lot between donated costal cartilage and autologous costal cartilage, but I thought my own cartilage might be better, though I was also worried it would hurt a lot. The clinic uses a surgical method that harvests it through only a minimal incision, and with a four-layer fixation method, they firmly support the nasal tip. They were also considerate about scarring, harvesting the costal cartilage so the scar could be hidden along the underwear line, and they said postoperative scar-care services were included. So without needing to think any further, I trusted them and decided to have it done there. Since I was getting rhinoplasty anyway, I also wondered whether I should raise the nasal bridge, and many places mostly recommended silicone. But I was worried about side effects from silicone, so I thought a lot about whether the shape would turn out well if I had surgery without putting it in. The director told me that my nasal bridge was not on the low side, so it would likely look natural even without augmenting it. Because the consultation was kind and there was no overtreatment, I felt drawn to them. The consultant who counseled me was also great because she answered every single question without showing any annoyance, and instead even shared her own experiences and things she had heard from people around her. I also liked that I could have the surgery at the event price listed in the app without any added charges. One day after surgery, they removed the cotton from my nose and immediately provided swelling care with a swelling injection and swelling laser treatment, and I could also receive scar laser treatment 3 times at monthly intervals, so I worried less about scarring, which was nice. I think I made the right choice having it done at that clinic. My mom had opposed the surgery because she was worried about side effects, but she also told me I did well to get it done, so I was happy. At first, I felt like the lifted appearance of my nose had not improved much, but I trusted the director and waited. As time passed, the nasal tip gradually came down little by little, and now I like it. I keep thinking I should have done it when I was even one year younger. Thank you for making the surgery turn out beautifully.

This is a surgery review pursuing a natural look.
