I also agreed that harvesting even my own rib was kind of too much, but the design was not great, so I backed out. Honestly, I went here for consultations because I liked the nose shape, but unlike the other hospitals, they recommended autologous costal cartilage, so I was surprised. 1. I just had an aversion to general anesthesia itself. But when I thought about how they would keep administering medication during surgery in case I moved and something went wrong or I woke up, I felt it would be better to just do general anesthesia. So I decided to get general anesthesia. Instead, the following conditions applied: - It had to be a place with no safety issues - There had to be an anesthesiology director 2. I really hated the idea of pain. But??? I also wasn’t sure that using donated costal cartilage or septal cartilage would mean it wouldn’t hurt. So I ended up thinking, if it’s going to hurt no matter what, I should do it properly. I think I was persuaded because the director kept convincing me point by point, and the design was my style. They also gave me an image of the expected surgical result in advance, and it was what I had ideally wanted, yeah. After harvesting the autologous costal cartilage, I was dizzy, so I sat there for about 30?? 40 minutes, and when I left, I received an abdominal binder and a pack. The area where they harvested the autologous costal cartilage hurt more than my nose, and the pain seemed to settle down on day 4. After that, it was pretty smooth. As a tip, just don’t try to do anything and stay still. Still, there are occasionally lucky people who say they barely felt pain, so keep that in mind. Even after the swelling went down, my nasal tip didn’t drop, and I think the short-looking nose improved too. It wasn’t very different from the surgical result I saw in advance, and for a first surgery, it turned out pretty well? I think it was done thoroughly.
