Review of lateral and lower canthoplasty at a clinic -Reason I decided to have surgery- First of all, when looking at my eyes with the naked eye, they were not severely small, clam-shaped eyes or sharp, upturned eyes, but out of my own desire, I wanted puppy-like eyes, so I decided to have surgery. There was not much space that could be opened enough to make a dramatic before-and-after difference, so I chose a clinic that could definitely widen them.
-Clinic atmosphere and impressions- I have really been to many plastic surgery clinics and have had many surgeries too, but this was the first clinic where the nurses, operating-room staff, consultant, and front-desk staff were all this kind. They paid attention to every small detail, and even if it were not for a review, the kindness and attentiveness were so good, on a completely different level from other clinics, that I felt I should write about it separately in a community. Especially the consultation with the consultant and the director was so good, and honestly I think I chose this clinic without hesitation because of the consultant. She explained things clearly and refreshingly, and even though I was asking endless questions, she answered my questions realistically and well. When I saw the director on the day of surgery, I was honestly so shaky, scared, and nervous, but maybe because it was obvious that I was nervous, he even joked with me to help me relax until I went under sedation anesthesia, and I was really so grateful. Thanks to that, I think I was able to undergo surgery comfortably. At this clinic, whether during the consultation or right before surgery when getting the director's confirmation, I felt that they carefully explained every detail of the surgical method and the discomfort, side effects, etc. that could appear afterward. I liked this point the most. Usually clinics talk a lot about the design aspect, and the functional side comes second haha
-After surgery- Right after surgery, I really thought something had gone wrong with my eyes. I saw four of everything, could not focus, felt dizzy, and I think I lay in the recovery room for about 2 hours. The nurse said it could be like that for about 2-3 hours on the day of surgery, so I fumbled my way into a taxi and came home. As the swelling gradually increased and edema developed in my eyes, I could not see in front of me, and all day my eyes were dry and stiff, with redness, bruising, and swelling ㅜㅜ There was no particular pain, but it was just so uncomfortable. It also looked frightening, so I could not go anywhere, and for 5 days I think I just lay at home doing cold compresses.
-What I’m looking forward to- It is still only day 5, so the stitches are still in and the edema has not gone away, but I can already clearly see that my eye shape has changed. I did not want them to look too sad, so I asked for them to be opened straight across, and I am very satisfied because my eyes, which were already long, seem to have become even longer haha. I want to get the lateral canthoplasty stitches removed quickly, have the swelling go down and the edema disappear, recover, put on makeup, and go out.
