Is autologous costal cartilage okay?

I’m planning to get revision surgery, and honestly it seems like almost all revision cases use autologous costal cartilage Since I have one failed surgery in my history too, I’m thinking maybe it would be okay if I use something a lot of people use I really don’t even want to imagine a second revision surgery........ The stress is one thing, but the money is seriously, ha.. If I can do it within this year, I’m planning to, but is autologous costal cartilage the best material for revision rhinoplasty?? Are there separate hospitals that are good at using autologous costal cartilage.. If there are lots of autologous costal cartilage reviews, can I consider it a hospital that uses it well Among the places I looked at, I saw it a lot in reviews for one clinic But I don’t know if they’re good with my case too For reference, I’m doing it because my hump wasn’t shaved down enough and my bulbous nose didn’t improve either.. People who had revision surgery, please share info..

Why are you getting revision surgery? Depending on the case, even for revision surgery, I’ve seen people use just septal cartilage or ear cartilage instead of costal cartilage.

From what I know, unless it’s contracture, even revision surgery doesn’t necessarily have to be done with costal cartilage.

I used autologous costal cartilage too because mine was revision surgery. If you’re going to use autologous costal cartilage, you really need to go somewhere that has handled a lot of it.

I think it’s case by case rather than autologous costal cartilage necessarily being the answer for revision. But if you’re going to use autologous costal cartilage, it’s definitely better to go somewhere that uses it a lot. I had revision at one clinic using autologous costal cartilage for both the bridge and tip, and it definitely feels like the shape is well supported..?

After my first surgery, I had a step-off and my nasal tip was drooping, so I had revision rhinoplasty using autologous costal cartilage at one clinic. In conclusion, I’m satisfied, the nose shape came out the way I wanted, and because it supports things firmly, I don’t think I’ll have to worry. It does feel firm, but I think I’ll get used to that as time passes.

That clinic uses autologous costal cartilage well, so I think it would be okay.. They say to use it last, right? That’s because it’s that important of a material, and if it’s revision surgery, autologous costal cartilage is even more likely to be better.
