I had a consultation with Director Seo Hyo-seok at a plastic surgery clinic. I saw his videos about sunken eyes on YouTube, and he spoke honestly in a “this won't work for this reason” kind of way, so I thought I probably wouldn't be ruined if I went there, and went for a consultation. The consultation order was as I had seen in other reviews: staff, director, staff. It took a total of 30 minutes. (Consultation fee 5,000 won.) In the actual consultation too, the director said things that wouldn't work just wouldn't work, like on YouTube. He didn't present an ideal look first. He first asked the direction I wanted, then gave me a few options to match that. Among them, I chose epicanthoplasty with upper medial canthoplasty + non-incisional monolid eye-shape correction. (He said if I do incisional for no reason, I won't be able to restore it even if I regret it, so I should do non-incisional whether it later loosens or not.) My ideal was for my eyes to get bigger without the outer corners drooping, like when I normally open my eyes with my forehead, but he said the line follows the natural texture/flow, so it is impossible to keep the outer corners from drooping. And because I'm young, he said he would make a line rather than do a forehead lift, so even after surgery the eye shape would be different from when I open my eyes with my forehead. Other questions and requests Me: I want epicanthoplasty to the point where the lacrimal caruncle is barely visible Doctor: There is a minimum amount that has to be cut. Also, you keep pulling the inner corner of your eye sideways + upward when you look in the mirror, but there is no canthoplasty like that. You have to pull the inner corner only sideways for it to resemble the postoperative appearance. Also, it's not epicanthoplasty alone, but epicanthoplasty with upper medial canthoplasty, and it inevitably becomes pointed. Me: I have facial asymmetry because of a temporomandibular joint disorder. Does that matter? (I don't know why I asked this question;;) Doctor: Since we only look at the area between the eyes and cheekbones, it doesn't interfere. --------- The doctor left and a staff member came in (Maybe she noticed I had prepared questions roughly and had nothing more to ask, so she told me to think about it and left. She also seemed a bit busy.) Me: Is it okay to do only eye-shape correction without double eyelid surgery?? --> The ptosis is not that severe, so eye-shape correction alone is okay. Me: I'm worried that if I do buried suture, it will loosen more easily than incisional. ---> That was more the case in the past; these days there are many fixation points? (seems like she meant the points where the thread is passed?) so it's not particularly like that. (Here I was slightly like, huh?) The price is originally more expensive if done separately, but because I'm doing epicanthoplasty with upper medial canthoplasty and eye-shape correction together, discounted --> 80+80 = 160 They said there is a 10% deposit.
