I posted here a few days ago saying there was a lot of bruising. The hospital was quick to respond about reservation-related matters, but slow with other questions, and they didn’t even ask the patient’s name and just told me to wait, so I gave up. (I’m starting to think Korean hospitals are all like this now.) There was originally a size asymmetry, and they said that kind of thing is hard to match, so I didn’t have expectations. But the eye with the issue was settling into a straight line closer to the opposite shape, rather than a soft half-moon shape. (I looked at many adverse-effect cases before surgery and also searched papers.) Today the doctor reopened it and performed revision surgery. They said they pulled the 1/3 area further upward, and because my child was in pain, they couldn’t pull the area next to it. They said the functional aspect of the eye is more important. I’ll have to see once the swelling goes down, but now it has gone from a straight line to a mountain shape, and the inner side of the eyelashes is a bit flipped outward, so the inner flesh shows from the front... Is this okay? I don’t even want to ask the hospital. They’ll definitely just tell me to wait. I don’t have a good feeling about this I’m worried scar tissue will form around the eye, and I feel like my child will resent me for life I regret so much coming to Korea to get eye surgery.
