An older relative who lives overseas came to Korea this time and got eye cosmetic surgery. I noticed there are actually quite a few people here looking into middle-aged eye surgery, so I’m writing a review. The hospital where the surgery was done was one my older relative found themselves, and they said they were referred by an acquaintance. It seems that person had surgery there first, liked the results, and recommended it. They first had a consultation directly through KakaoTalk, and when they came to Korea and went for in-person consultations, I accompanied them. First of all, the older person in my family had discomfort because their eyelashes were poking the eye, and there was drooping both above and below the eyes. They said they absolutely wanted it to look natural, and because they also had under-eye fat, they were considering under-eye fat repositioning as well. When we visited the hospital and consulted with the director, they explained incisional and non-incisional methods, lower blepharoplasty, and under-eye fat repositioning in really great detail. I went along because I was worried they might be treated casually since they’re older, but the consultation was so thorough that I almost felt sorry for worrying.. haha Because the consultation was so good, the older person in my family also decided on the surgery quickly. For the estimate, they said upper blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty, and ptosis correction would be enough, so we proceeded according to the director’s recommendation. Since they live overseas, I was worried because they couldn’t spend a long time here, but thankfully everything proceeded one-stop from consultation to surgery in the order of KakaoTalk - visit - surgery. For someone middle-aged, the swelling went down quickly, and the eyelashes that used to poke the eye are no longer an issue. All the discomfort disappeared, so they’re very satisfied. If you’re considering middle-aged eye surgery, I recommend going to an eye-specialized clinic.
