I started working from around one month after the procedure. It's a whole new world. I definitely think the sooner you do it, the better. I am a bit scared to wear lenses for a long time, but just in case, I follow the recommended wearing time for lenses in daily life, so there are no issues. The lenses are color lenses. I'm using them with no prescription.
