I started thinking about nose surgery because the hump was the main issue..ㅜ Rather than something too natural, I like a moderately refined look, so I used that as my standard while researching online and going to consultations! --- And: consultation time 50 minutes / CCTV available There usually wasn’t much waiting time, but I waited a bit when getting the CT scan. People were waiting continuously at the CT area. The consultant wasn’t the type to push recommendations in a burdensome way, and it felt like she explained only the surgical aspects clearly. She said hump correction would probably be the main part, and I had a consultation with the director. Here, they also run a nose simulation and show it to you, and since it was my first time seeing that, it was kind of fascinating. But the line the director suggested felt a bit flashy by my standards....ㅜ So I said I wanted it a little lower, but the director said these days everyone raises it at least this much. They said my hump is on the severe side, so it definitely has to be corrected, and they also said my nasal septum is deviated. I also heard about nasal septal deviation during the surgery discussion, but in the end it was left out of the diagnosis, and they said the nasal materials would be septal cartilage, ear cartilage, and donated costal cartilage. The consultant felt normal. They didn’t push anything here either, and said I’d know accurately after talking with the director, then they would explain aftercare and costs in detail afterward. The director first compared using silicone versus doing it without an implant, and said that if I wanted to make the bridge higher than now, they recommended placing even a thin layer of silicone. (2-3 mm) They said the hump can be corrected by shaving it down, and because the septum looked small on CT, they would also mix in costal cartilage. And something I learned here is that CT can show the septum size to some extent, but not its thicknessㅜ So the director said they would explain various surgical plans. They shaped the nose directly, and I liked it. A classic refined look. They recommended doing correction for nasal septal deviation together, and said we should also address functional issues during surgery. Aftercare: swelling laser ---- Wolbi: consultation time 30 minutes / CCTV available but viewing not allowed This was the only place that recommended no implant. The consultant was very kind, and only asked where I had heard about them, with no particular extra comments. The director had me wear a headband and pulled my bangs completely up, then checked the condition of my nose. They said that even though I have a hump, my nose is a bit long and the skin around the bridge is thin, so no implant would look prettier. They said silicone would indeed make it look higher, but it would show through..ㅜ There are also methods like adding ear cartilage or dermis, but since this is my first surgery, they said we should go safely with no implant. (to avoid contracture + inflammation) They said the hump would be corrected by shaving only a little, and the rest would be filled by grinding ear cartilage. For the nasal tip, they would not use ear cartilage, and because the septum is deviated, they said donated costal cartilage would be better. Here, there is a separate fee for harvesting ear cartilage, and they said they would include bulbous nose correction as a service. Aftercare: swelling laser ----- I copied up to here from what I had separately written in my notes, but for the nasal tip material, all of them recommended donated costal cartilage...ㅜ There is a place where I like the nose shape, but one thing I’m worried about is that many places said they would correct the hump only by shaving it down.. I keep wondering, it won’t grow back or create a step-off, right?..ㅜㅜ And even with no implant, could satisfaction still be high.. Design-wise, I like the place that recommended an implant more, but since no implant definitely feels less burdensome, I’m drawn to that too..
