I was always worried because my side-profile square jaw was so severe, and even from the front my face looked too round and wide. When taking photos, I hated so, so much that my square jaw would show even if I turned my head just slightly, so I didn’t want other people taking photos of me. It had to be front-facing photos only lol. I rarely wore hats and hated tying my hair up too. I kept just worrying about it, but I didn’t want to spend my 20s like this, so I decided on impulse and went ahead with facial contouring surgery at a contouring clinic! The hospital was clean, and I liked that it was a single-doctor clinic. The consultation was straightforward too, and the director seemed extremely T-like, which actually made me trust him more and like him. I had square jaw surgery with liposuction. It was my first major surgery, so I was so nervous and scared, but when I woke up from sleep, it was really all over. During the first 1-2 weeks, the facial swelling was seriously intense. My boyfriend said it looked like I had steamed buns stuffed in my cheeks... I took one week off, but even though I could cover my face with a mask, the yellow bruising went all the way down to my neck. I just lied and said I had a procedure done haha. The stitches behind my ears were removed at week 1. The stitches inside my mouth were dissolvable, so it was convenient because I didn’t have to go to the hospital for them. They were all gone between weeks 2 and 3. Now I’m exactly one month post-op, and except for foods that are tough or hard, I can eat most things. Even though I still have swelling, the angles on the sides are gone, so I’m so, so happy. I think I wear my hair tied up more often now. I can wear hats comfortably now too. I really don’t regret it, and I keep thinking I should have done it even one year earlier. I’m so happy. When I looked up reviews of the contouring clinic, people said it looks different again at 3 months and 6 months, so I hope the swelling goes down faster haha. I’m looking forward to it.
