I had surgery 15 years ago using silicone, septal cartilage, and ear cartilage. I had no problems until now, but recently, all of a sudden, the bridge of my nose started feeling stiff, painful, and swollen… I went to a clinic, and they said to try taking antibiotics, and if it keeps recurring, I’ll probably need to have the silicone removed… My first surgery was done outside Seoul. I didn’t love the shape that much, but I was reasonably satisfied, so for the revision, I wanted to be more careful and went around for consultations in Seoul. ㅁㅅㅇ: Since I don’t make a living with my face, I shouldn’t expect too much. It would be best to remove the silicone and only do cartilage repositioning at the nasal tip, with no side effects and without much change to the nose shape. ㅍㄴㅅ: If I remove the silicone and use autologous costal cartilage to do a major reconstruction of the whole nose (internal alar reduction, lowering the columella, removing scar tissue, osteotomy, bulbous nose correction), it can become much more natural and prettier than now. ㅁㅎ: If the silicone is removed, that area will sink in, so it would be better to lower the silicone and reuse it, then touch up the nasal tip. They do not recommend removing the silicone completely. ㅇㅇㅇ: Remove the silicone, correct the short nose and bulbous nose, and use autologous or donated costal cartilage only for the nasal tip, lowering the bridge compared to now and refining the tip, but it would be difficult to greatly improve the pinched nostrils. ㅍㄹㅁ: Remove the silicone and reuse the septal cartilage for cartilage repositioning. However, the bridge will be lower than now, and significant bulbous nose correction will be difficult. Compared to before, the bridge will be lower, and it will be hard to make a big change to the nasal tip. If that feels lacking, they recommend using Megaderm on the bridge. What I felt after visiting 5 places is that younger doctors suggest more aggressive(?) methods, like using costal cartilage and doing a lot of work on the nasal tip, and recommend making the nose shape prettier. Doctors with more experience say it’s better to remove the silicone and go with a natural, not excessive method without much change from now, but that it’s hard to expect a big change in shape…. I don’t know which is right

furi I think the latter is right. They have experience for a reason. All the doctors at the clinic I go to say the latter.

럭키탱큐 [@furi] Thanks for your opinion!! I’m leaning toward the latter too…
뷰리퓨에 I also think the latter is right. The place called ㅁㅅㅇ and ㅍㄹㅁ have similar opinions, right? Removing the silicone and repositioning the nasal tip cartilage is the shared opinion,, the others are just doing their own thing with their own opinions. But where is ㅁㅅㅇ?
뽀이 I had silicone removed during my revision because of inflammation from the silicone in my first surgery, and my bridge really sank in, so I had another revision.. Wouldn’t it be okay to use lower silicone or lay something really thin, like a custom implant.??? Isn’t ㅁㅎ famous for that Fitmeko thing...???
고래똥 I also vote for the latter. Experience exists for a reason!! If you want to remove the implant, putting something else in doesn’t really fit the purpose. If it were me, I’d go safely too.

cjjhh When people put something else in because they’re having revision surgery, many end up regretting it and looking into removal again. Among the places everyone here went to for consultations, I think it makes sense to go with ㅍㄹㅁ or ㅁㅅㅇ, since they explained things in a less excessive direction.
냇지 If you’re not going to work in entertainment/broadcasting, let’s go with safety first!!
채써이에오 Please give a bit more of a hint about the clinic info I want to go around for consultations too!

Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-reviewAug 22 I got my nose done yesterday. (Donated costal cartilage absorption & deformation)
Hi!!! I had surgery yesterday. Please refer to my previous post for my pre-op condition. The donated costal cartilage had almost all disappeared, with nothing really left to remove. I do have a splint on, but what do you think? ㆍ_ㆍ )?
Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-reviewAug 22 Review: My nasal tip became so defined and pretty without an implant
I originally had a fairly decent nasal bridge, and I was more or less satisfied with the shape of my nose, so it wasn’t like I had any major complaints. But my mouth protrudes a bit too, haha, so I wondered if getting my nose done might…
