Breast Surgery Reviews

Review of transumbilical breast augmentation

I had the surgery around 2018-2019, in my mid-20s!! I only found out about this community recently, so I came to write a review now, and the clinic has closed down.. haha hahahahahah When I was looking into transumbilical breast augmentation, people on other forums said there was a reason clinics no longer did it and told me to do an armpit incision or inframammary incision + silicone, but I often wear crop tops and in summer I frequently wear clothes that expose my armpits, so I didn’t want scars. So in the end, people usually do what they want anyway. I went ahead despite most people opposing it. Surgical method The surgical method was to go in from the belly button up to the breasts in a flat plane, then cut about half of the pectoralis major muscle in the breast area and go in. After securing the space where the breast shape would be made, an empty silicone pack (rolled up) was moved through the belly button up to the breast position. Once it was positioned at the breast, sterile saline was inserted through a tube connected to the belly button. They filled it to a level that suited my body type + close to what I wanted (I personally did not want them big; my torso is too small, so it would have been difficult to go large from the start, and I disliked anything too obvious). They removed the tube connected to the saline pack and closed the open area. So in the end, the only scar left was the belly button. Current condition It has now been 5-6 years, and to tell you my current condition, first, unlike silicone, there is bound to be some leakage, so the size has decreased, but compared with before, I still think it looks more natural and better. As for feel, until 6 months after surgery, it felt like it wasn’t mine, and I had no nipple sensation either Back then I was very young, so I was really upset, but as I got older and gained weight, the feel improved compared with before, and sensation came back too. The downside of saline is that if it leaks, you can feel the pack emptying by touch, and sensitive people will understand, but my husband says he can’t tell. Since I touch it often myself, I do sometimes think, “Oh.. this part feels kind of like a pack?” At first after the surgery, I lived with a lot of worries, but now that I’m over thirty and have gained weight, I live without paying too much attention to it. Rather, since my current husband knows I had surgery, if the shape gets weird after having a baby, I’m thinking of either changing to silicone then or removing it entirely. At that time, the upper part was placed under the pectoralis major and the lower part was exposed under the tissue, so when exercising.. especially chest exercises lol the pectoralis major pushes from above and the upper breast gets squashed. Does it bother me? It can bother you. So if you dislike this kind of thing, it’s better not to place it under the muscle, and if you really have no tissue, if you don’t cover it with muscle, the upper area has even less tissue, so it basically announces, “These are fake boobs.” So I couldn’t not do it. Anyway, unless you’re an athlete, if you need exposure + active movement for broadcasting, dance, etc., whether you put it under the muscle or not, please fill the upper breast with some fat.. (of course, surgically..) Recovery period Recovery was fast. Of course, if you have an office job, your breasts + abdomen will hurt, but maybe it’s even better these days..? For about a week, the whole upper body is uncomfortable. It gets itchy as the breast tissue stretches. By the time the belly button stitches are removed, there are no special issues. Belly button scar It remains. I’m a crop-top lover, but when I wear crop tops, I cover my belly button with my pants.. Some people say they don’t have one, but for me, I think the incision was placed too high. I’ve gained weight so my belly button is less visible now, but the scar is still slightly visible.. whitish. These days, there are people who are thin but only have breasts, but first of all, those people are born that way, and there aren’t that many people like that in Korea. If you’re on the thin side but have some breasts? Congratulations. However, most people are the type who easily gain fat on the upper arms or belly. The type that only gains weight in the lower body may still have relatively poor breast volume even if they have body fat. In that case, breast surgery? It can be done. But you need to research it well before doing it. Sensation may not come back more often than you think, and I might be the kind of person who could have infection or capsular contracture, you never know. Also, if your personality is sensitive, you feel everything. Every problem feels like it’s mine... Transumbilical breast augmentation wasn’t seen much before, but these days when I search again, several clinics come up, which is a little surprising, so I’m posting this review because I thought it might help. I don’t think there are many people like me who used saline packs. These days, many people also fill breasts with fat, but from a breast surgery standpoint, if fat tissue is put in and calcifications or foreign-body-like findings form, it becomes hard to tell whether it is cancer or not, and they say it’s easier because if a problem happens, you can just remove the pack. Of course, people who had no breasts... have almost.. no chance of getting breast cancer.... I heard it directly..ㅓ.. (I had a consultation at a breast surgery clinic first before the operation.) For people who already have breasts and are enlarging them, some places may say breast-compression X-rays are impossible every time, and personally I think consulting more with a surgical specialist, not just a plastic surgeon, before deciding is also an option. What if the pack ruptures? Hmm, when a foreign material enters the body, a membrane that wraps around it like a capsule forms. That is how the human body is. So if the pack ruptured only inside that capsular membrane, they can cut out the capsule together, so in its own way I actually think it’s safe. Usually the capsule shrinks too much and capsular contracture and such occur, so it can be upsetting, but the human body is just doing what it is supposed to do. If the pack ruptures and leaks beyond the capsule too...? Hmm, go to the hospital quickly. These days, they say it is safe because it isn’t the kind of silicone material that spreads a lot, though. If you have anything else you’re curious about, leave a comment. If I see it, I’ll reply as much as I know.
