Surgery in 2021 / From why I chose the hospital to now, I’ll write an honest and straightforward review I hated my facial contour ever since I was young Especially my cheekbones!! I knew my face was large, but it became even more noticeable when wearing a mask.. Turning on the camera was stressful, and I really hated taking photos. My cheekbones looked so prominent Actually, I had thought about facial contouring surgery since I was young, but the cost was a burden and my parents told me to just live with the way I was born.. so I kept putting it off, but eventually I went for real consultations and made up my mind! Why I chose the hospital I went to several consultations, but EU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery really felt like a hospital. The day I had my X-ray and consultation, I truly felt this place was different. Other places felt too much like they were just doing business. Here, the director was so kind, explained everything really well, and it genuinely felt like receiving medical care! It was the only place I trusted enough to book the surgery date right after the consultation haha 1 week after surgery I can chew a bit now, so I’m eating noodles and rice! lol It was hard at first, but after 1 week it became possible. I couldn’t give up eating, so I forced myself to eat and gargled with water afterward~ I could do almost all daily activities. I had no pain at all, and I could even go to a cafe alone and drink coffee haha I had thread lifting and liposuction before, and honestly those hurt more lol If I had to do those again, I’d rather get facial contouring one more time. For about a day after waking up from anesthesia, it was hard, but after that I was really so fine. People around me also said that for week 1, I had so little bruising and swelling, and they were excited to see the results haha Week 2 All the bruising went away, and the swelling went down much more than in week 1! The heaviness when lowering my head got much better, and the numb, tingling pain is almost gone now. These days I’m practicing opening my mouth while doing “ah-eh-ee-oh-oo” exercises lol I can brush my teeth too, and I’m gradually returning to daily life! Weeks 3-4 The line is gradually starting to show, so it’s so fascinating haha I just can’t eat tough foods, but now I can speak well and my pronunciation has become clear too! I’m taking walks and have started exercising. I’m waiting for the swelling to go down~ The uneven swelling is gradually becoming smoother, and I really like my jawline Month 2 Daily life is completely possible! I can open my mouth well, and there’s not even the slightest discomfort when eating! I went to the hospital for a checkup, and they said everything was good, so I felt so relieved. These days, when I smile, I feel like my facial muscles clump up, so I started getting massages too.. It does hurt a bit But the effect seems good? Months 3-5 These days, a lot of people ask if I lost weight lol As the swelling goes down, I can feel my facial contour gradually settling into place. I don’t live in Seoul, so I can’t go to the hospital often, but every time I go, they look after me so kindly and thoroughly that I’m touched I really think I chose the hospital so well! Months 9-10 Now it really feels like all the major swelling is gone! When I look at photos, I look like a completely different person from before surgery lol My friends all ask if I lost weight, and when I show photos to friends who didn’t know I had surgery, they ask which hospital I went to lol When I said I didn’t even use a drainage bag, my friends were all surprised~ I had heard a lot that it was painful, but I truly didn’t have any of that kind of pain haha Months 11-12 (1 year) Now it doesn’t even look like I had surgery, the line is so natural, and almost all the swelling is gone. I’ve been diligently doing face masks again and keeping up with care, so the uneven areas have become even smoother. The surgery was truly the best decision, and I’m convinced choosing this hospital was such a good choice!! Before surgery, I was very scared and worried a lot, but now I’m so happy I really think I met the right hospital and the surgery went so well.
