Eye Surgery Reviews

I got my stitches removed today, so here’s my review from consultation to stitch removal!…

<These are comparison photos from right after surgery on the first day and later that afternoon, and the swelling had gone down quite a lot!>Hi everyone!! I guess I’m actually writing this review too… hehe It feels like just yesterday I was endlessly browsing this community day and night, doing online research, but it’s already been a week since surgery and I got my stitches removed today! On my way back after getting the stitches removed, I came into the community for the first time in a while and saw that a few people seemed curious about the hospital where I had surgery, so I thought it might be helpful and decided to write this, even though I’m not great at writing!! I’ll write slowly from the consultation review to stitch removal, so I really hope it helps with your decision! [Consultation review] First of all, I did a lot of online research, but I didn’t visit many clinics in person This is just my personality, but I guess there weren’t many hospitals that really clicked with me… Honestly, after tons of online research, the place that clicked with me the most was ㅇㅇㅍ, so I had my first consultation there! (I honestly slightly don’t recommend not visiting many places. I also don’t think visiting an excessive number of clinics is necessarily good, but I think going to at least about 3 places would be good! I only went to the two places that clicked with me ㅎㅁㅎ…) I was really, really nervous on the day of the consultation, but I remember feeling a little more relaxed because the staff were so kind and the consultant also guided me very kindly! The consultation went in the order of consultant - director - consultant again, and I had narrowed down the eyes I wanted (inline or a thin in-out line) and brought them on a tablet! After consulting with the consultant, I consulted with the director, and just like the reviews I had seen while doing online research, I really opened and closed my eyes about five hundred times (meaning he was meticulous…), and his hands really smelled like soap, a very clean and fresh feeling…!! (I’m the type of person who thinks even small things like this matter ㅎㅁㅎ…) Anyway, the consultation was very detailed too! I thought my eyes were very asymmetrical, and he explained well why they looked so uneven. I actually hadn’t been thinking about canthoplasty, but he said one reason for my asymmetry was also the difference in how much of the white of the eye showed at the inner front part of the smaller eye, and he suggested doing a slight canthoplasty on each side just enough to match them. Since the reason made sense, I think I decided to do canthoplasty even though I hadn’t planned on it! Overall, the consultation was good, and when I asked first about ptosis correction, he said my eye-opening strength was good and that I didn’t need it, so I thought he was very conscientious and only quoted what was necessary. But!!! If anyone is going for a consultation here, I really think you should make a list of questions❕❕ This was the part I felt was a bit regrettable after the consultation, like, ah, I should have thought more before going… The doctor seems a little shy, he’s shy ^ㅁ^ He’s not the type to explain a ton first, but he does explain everything necessary!! For additional questions, I have to ask!! The doctor also asks, “Do you have any other questions~?”!! Since it was my first consultation, I went, uh.. um… and asked a few things, then ended it, and later I felt regretful Everyone, make sure to list your questions well before you go! He answers questions very thoroughly~ After that consultation! After consulting with the consultant again, I immediately put down a deposit and left ㅎㅁㅎ… I did wonder if I should have been more careful… but I’m so satisfied now, and I think I trusted my instinct! [Surgery day] Aaaah, finally surgery day…!! You’d think I was extremely nervous, right…?! For some reason I wasn’t nervous at all ^ㅁ^! I started getting a little nervous from when I washed my face, but even the day before surgery, strangely, I really wasn’t nervous ㅎㅁㅎ… Anyway, after washing my face, I had another line consultation with the consultant! This time I thought it would be better to bring just one photo, so I showed a photo of Hanni from NewJeans and had the line consultation ㅎㅁㅎ The director came in, I showed him the photo again! Then he started marking the line! He really…… from what I saw during online research and from what the consultant said too, he spends a long time designing the line! I didn’t have anything specific to correct, so I didn’t make changes, but in other people’s reviews I saw that he made all the adjustments and was really meticulous! And in reality, he was really… extremely meticulous with designing my line too. Earlier in the consultation review, I said I opened and closed my eyes 500 times, right? This time it was about 1000 times ^ㅁ^ I think this is what it feels like to see craftsmanship up close,,, I calmly closed and opened my eyes… listened to the explanation of the line he designed, discussed what line height to choose, and the doctor smiled and said he would make it pretty for me. After the consultation ended, I finally went into the operating room… Honestly, it was my first surgery in my life, so sleep anesthesia? Things like that were completely new to me, and I thought a little, does that really make you sleepy, what if I don’t fall asleep? They also said I had to wake up during surgery to check the line, so I wondered what if I don’t wake up, and I even asked the nurse. “Will I… be able to wake up during surgery…?” She very kindly… said, “Of course~^^,” so I trusted her and obediently lay down and waited ㅎㅅㅎ I was slowly getting nervous, and when the doctor came in he said, “You must be very nervous~?” and I answered yes in a totally watery voice, and he said, “I’ll make it nice and pretty for you~^^”… Honestly, even though it was just words, I felt a lot more at ease I can still hear it clearly… And after that, I lost my memory. And I really did wake up exactly in the middle. “Please open your eyes once~^^” Y…yes… “Please close them again~^^” And then I lost my memory again. I don’t even remember how I moved to the recovery room^^… I think I asked the nurse something, but I don’t remember that either, I just remember that she was kind ^_^… So I recovered in the recovery room, and I just felt dazed, and my eyes and the whole situation were just so funny that I remember laughing by myself (not because the eye line was weird or anything, I just found myself funny ^ㅁ^…) But it really didn’t hurt at all. Honestly, in the recovery room I thought, ‘Maybe it doesn’t hurt because of the medication…’ but for the whole week it honestly didn’t hurt much either. Just a bit of tight pulling? Toward the later part, it was a little itchy! There really wasn’t much bruising or swelling, and on the first day the swelling went down a lot. From the second day it did swell a little! For a week, I diligently did what the hospital told me to do, and I heard pumpkin tea or swelling tea doesn’t really help, so I didn’t drink any. I think I just worked hard on eye-opening exercises! [Stitch removal day] Living with stitches made one week feel pretty long ^ㅁ^ During the week, I watched quite a lot of YouTube videos, and one doctor said that if the stitches are finished so they’re visible on the outside, that means the doctor has good skill?! Apparently it hurts less when removing the stitches…!! And my canthoplasty stitches were exactly like that… So I thought, as expected of my doctor-father ^-^ and went feeling a little reassured, but still, it did hurt… (Later I asked a friend who knows a lot about plastic surgery information, and they said canthoplasty stitches hurt a bit) I endured it by pressing firmly with my hand, but tears welled up, and maybe the doctor saw a little bit of tears in my eyes because he said, “It stings a bit, right?” so that was comforting at least… After all the stitches were removed, I looked in the mirror and there really wasn’t much scarring!! I felt good ㅎㅁㅎ The doctor also said the surgery went well, explained the aftercare well, and I received an additional laser treatment before leaving! Up to now it hasn’t hurt at all, and I just wish it would hurry up and be one month I want to try makeup soon!!!!!!! As I wrote, this got long.!!! First of all, I really recommend my hospital… From the consultant to the nurses, everyone is kind… Especially the director is really cute and kind (he looks exactly the same as on YouTube)!! The aftercare is good and the hospital is clean too! It’s the kind of place I hope you’ll at least have a consultation at once. [Additional things I want to say] 1. Think very carefully about canthoplasty - Looking back now, I think I was a bit too casual about canthoplasty. Even when I consulted at another hospital besides this one, they mentioned canthoplasty, so I thought, ‘Ah, I really do need canthoplasty,’ and in a way I think I took it rather lightly. I think canthoplasty really changes your impression a lot. Especially those with soft, gentle features!!!! I was actually closer to that soft type too (I feel really embarrassed saying this, sorry), but now my impression has really changed a lot… I like my current eyes too, but I do slightly miss my past gentle impression But if someone did canthoplasty casually, didn’t like their eyes, and also missed their past look and regretted it, that would really be awful…!! So I really hope you think about it carefully 2. Objectively analyze your face I think I also tried to be objective when deciding on the line. Just having insanely pretty eyes!!!!! That’s great, of course, but does it suit my face…! I think that’s the issue!! I hope you consider harmony important, because our face doesn’t only have eyes! My ideal look and the level of beauty realistically attainable… I hope you objectively weigh these things and choose a pretty line (● ˃̶͈̀ロ˂̶͈́)੭ꠥ⁾⁾ That’s all I have to say! I’m also ignorant about plastic surgery and just one person who experienced it first…! But I think that difference in experience is fairly big, so I wrote this hoping it would help ㅎㅁㅎ… Don’t worry too much while browsing this community late at night… Sleep well Worries you have at dawn are usually useless… If you have any questions, leave a comment! I’ll answer as best as I can!!! See you next time with my one-month review ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡
