Hello. Since this is my first cosmetic surgery review, I wondered how I should write it, but I’ll leave an honest review focused on what I personally felt. 1. My eyes before I originally had monolids and eyes that looked slightly slit upward at the outer ends. But as I got older, my upper eyelids gradually started to droop, and my eyelashes kept poking my eyes, so I eventually decided to have surgery. An ophthalmologist also recommended surgery, but since it was eye surgery after all, I thought it would be better to have it done at a plastic surgery clinic while considering safety and results, so I searched hard for a hospital. 2. Why I chose Thank You Plastic Surgery Because I knew nothing about cosmetic surgery, I studied slowly for about 6 months. I learned related terms, looked into hospitals, and occasionally visited a community cafe to gather information. The places recommended to me during that process were Jayjun, Thank You, and Eight. 1) Jayjun They recommended incision + ptosis correction + forehead Botox + fat removal, and the price was in the middle among the three. The consultation waiting time was long, and I did not feel that either the consultant or the director was particularly kind. 2) Eight They recommended incision + fat removal, and the price was the cheapest. They said ptosis correction was not necessary and explained that recommendations from other hospitals could be a sales tactic, so I felt some trust, but I was concerned because it was an incisional method. 3) Thank You I had consultations with two doctors. The first director recommended non-incisional double eyelid surgery + fat removal, and the chief director recommended non-incisional double eyelid surgery + an infra-brow lift. The price was the most expensive among the three. The reason I chose Thank You despite the higher price was that, since this was a surgery I would do once, I did not want it to fail, and the chief director’s explanation was the most logical and convincing. I especially remember the explanation that my eyes did not have a lot of fat, so if I only had double eyelid surgery, the skin could fold and protrude. So I trusted the advice that an infra-brow lift would be closer to the look I wanted and chose it. During the consultation, I could feel professionalism and confidence from the doctor’s gaze and way of speaking, which reduced a lot of my anxiety. 3. After surgery The look I wanted was an inline hidden double eyelid + natural eyes that were still somewhat defined. Even though it was hard to explain, the chief director reflected my opinion enough when designing the line. I had surgery on July 1, and until day 2, it hurt quite a bit, so sleeping was uncomfortable. From day 3, the pain almost disappeared, but eye care such as cold compresses, ophthalmic ointment, and eye drops was a bit troublesome. Now, one month after surgery, I think about 80% of the swelling has gone down. The inline crease is still strong, but according to the director, it should become much more natural after about 6 months. 4. Reactions around me People I know said it turned out natural and pretty, and my family said my impression looks a little stronger than before. I think that may be because my eyes looked vague before. 5. Recommendation For people like me who are getting cosmetic surgery for the first time and have a lot of anxiety and doubts, I recommend getting a consultation at least once. However, you must consult with the chief director. (You may have to wait 2–3 weeks for an appointment.) The price is definitely on the expensive side, but considering the result and peace of mind, I felt it was worth accepting. 6. Other Q&A Q. When washing your face/washing your hair is possible With family help, I washed my face on day 3, had my hair washed at a salon on day 7, and after stitch removal, I was able to do it by myself. Q. Compress method I did cold compresses often whenever I remembered, and around the time the bruising started to fade, I switched to warm compresses. Q. Medication I took the medicine given by the hospital, and when the pain was severe on the first day, I additionally took 2 Tylenol tablets. Q. Bruising/bleeding There was slight bleeding on days 1–3, and the bruising had almost disappeared by about one week. Q. Side effects I had more eye discharge, blurry vision, frequent tearing, and a stinging sensation. (It is gradually improving now.) Q. Return to daily life I was able to go out from week 1. Q. Sleeping posture I slept with one more pillow to elevate my head. Q. Effect of eating habits Caffeine, salty foods, and alcohol definitely worsened the swelling. Q. Difference from online reviews It was generally similar. It was exactly as the reviews said: “expensive but good.” Q. Current feelings I am satisfied for now, and I’m looking forward to 6 months later. Q. If I did it again? It is not certain yet, but if I get nose surgery, I would like to do it at this hospital. Q.
