Jaw and Cheekbones - Don’t Take It Lightly!

Hello, I had jaw and cheekbone surgery on January 31, and now ㅜㅜ I’m in shut-in mode in a studio room. My home is originally in Gyeonggi-do, but I thought contouring surgery should probably be done in Seoul, so I went around to several hospitals in Seoul for consultations, made a reservation at one hospital and then canceled it and did it somewhere else! After all that drama, I had surgery on January 31. I told my family something like I was going somewhere and came up to Gangnam. I rented something like a one-room gosiwon for a month (500,000-600,000 won per month). But,,,, now, 2 days after surgery, what I’m really desperately feeling is this,,, maybe because there are so many plastic surgery cases around these days, people think too lightly of surgery ㅜㅜ It is absolutely not easy! Honestly, when I only read the plastic surgery clinic’s explanation, I thought it would be general anesthesia (sleep deeply), wake up, be careful with my face for about a week, and once the swelling went down, done! That’s what I thought,. I didn’t know it would be this hard. First of all, the aftereffects of general anesthesia are no joke,. You can’t eat anything from the night before, and even though I hadn’t eaten anything, the nausea was bad enough that I felt like throwing up. Just stomach acid?? Is that what you call it? Only that much came out. And I was really, really dizzy,,, after jaw surgery, in a state where I couldn’t open my mouth properly, saliva and phlegm kept pooling, so I kept spitting it out and my throat got very damaged. And until the next afternoon, whenever I spat, blood and blood clots kept coming out ㅜㅜ And when you do the jaw and cheekbones together, they wrap bandages all around your face,,,, it really looks like a monster. Only about half of the eyes are visible, the nose is opened just enough to breathe, the lips are opened just enough to open the mouth, and the rest of the face is all wrapped in bandages. My lips were pushed toward the middle, so my lower lip swelled up like a sausage ㅜㅜ Even if I cover it with a hat and mask, really,,, I look like a monster. The distance from the hospital to my lodging is only about 200-300 meters, but I came by taxi. Even though I completely covered myself with a hat and mask, it was really ugly... I’ve never seen such an ugly face in my life. Sigh... I wrote this a bit incoherently. I’ll organize it a little and write it in chronological order. Day one, I came in without even drinking water from the day before, and had surgery around lunchtime in the afternoon. Before surgery, I had already finished tests such as blood test, urine test, ECG, and so on, and before surgery I got more injections, including an antibiotic injection. My arms look like a battlefield here and there ㅜㅜ Then surgery.... when they put the anesthetic into my arm, I could really feel the unpleasant sensation of the anesthetic running through my blood vessels. The moment I thought, “Ugh, this feels awful,” I lost consciousness, and when I woke up, I was in the hospital room. The throbbing pain in my face was secondary; the drain in my mouth and the endless blood clots in my mouth tormented me. I couldn’t sleep. Because of the aftereffects of general anesthesia, my stomach kept turning, and even though I hadn’t eaten anything, I kept retching, and every minute I kept spitting out saliva and phlegm from my mouth - when I spat it out, it was blood! Even at night I was just dizzy... I was scared to sleep. What if, while I was asleep, the bloody phlegm clots in my mouth blocked my throat and I died from difficulty breathing? I was really, seriously scared. And even if I tried to sleep, I couldn’t ㅜ Are the aftereffects of general anesthesia only this strong for me? My head was really so dizzy and my stomach felt nauseous. They said the antibiotics can also make your stomach nauseous. I really just prayed for time to pass, and the next day, February 1. They removed the drain. (It hurt so much I cried) I was discharged with a monster-like face,.,. Honestly, simple swelling can be covered with a mask and hat, right? But this was like wearing some huge mask, with my face covered in bandages from the top of my head to the tip of my chin, so even though I desperately covered it with a mask and hat, it was so, so grotesque,,,, Honestly, my face was not originally square-jawed or had protruding cheekbones, I only did it out of greed to make my face even a little smaller, so I really felt like I was some vain woman who only cares about appearance, and I even thought, ah, I’m being punished now ㅜㅜ I felt that way,. I even yelled for no reason at the hospital nurse, asking how they could discharge me looking like this and whether they should keep me hospitalized until the bandages came off, though even if I did, I couldn’t speak well, so they probably didn’t understand properly. Then I came to the one-room gosiwon, rushed into my room because I was afraid someone might see me, and tried to eat something because I was hungry... Oh no, I had bought 4 days’ worth of food in advance the day before,. Mostly juice,... They said cold pumpkin porridge could be eaten without heating, so I tried it, and it was really tasteless ㅜㅜ You know the ones they sell at convenience stores. I survived for now on 2 Petit Gel cups, milk, Bulgaris, and a salad drink, and just kept watching TV. But maybe because I lowered my head a little, or because I laughed while watching TV, I didn’t notice yesterday, but today my face has a tingling, stinging pain. What if I went through this painful, ugly surgery and it doesn’t turn out well? ㅜㅜ I’m even worried that maybe because I laughed, my cheekbones (I didn’t have fixation) sagged,. Today is day 2 after surgery. I really spent last night in pain too. I regret thinking of surgery too lightly. Right now my face feels like it’s been electrocuted, all prickly and tingling. For those who think too lightly of surgery, I hope you read my post and think very carefully. Whether you’re doing it just out of vanity.... These days, since plastic surgery is so common, it seems like doctors don’t really try to stop people even if they don’t have a square jaw or severe cheekbones...
