Don’t do ptosis correction.

[@Sheha] During the consultation, they said it would be good to do just a little more ptosis correction. Would it be okay to just do the double eyelid without ptosis correction? After getting ptosis correction in my first surgery, I do feel like opening my eyes with my forehead improved a lot.

[@Sheha] What I want is a clear, open-looking line and double eyelids that stand out right away in photos, like, “Oh, this person has double eyelids!” So I’m thinking of an in-out line. Would that still be too much? My epicanthal fold is thick, so I think a semi-out line would be too much! I thought my current line looked like it was rolling inward, so I couldn’t think of it as positively as you did!

I might do a canthoplasty, but probably not a lower canthoplasty... It looks like your eyelid covers the upper part of the eye, and with eyes like this, double eyelid surgery often doesn’t solve it, so I think it’s better not to get too greedy about raising the line...

[@NyanniNyanNyan] Yeah, yeah, so if I do it, I think I’ll do an in-out line. According to the doctor, doing only a lateral canthoplasty wouldn’t be effective, so they said if I’m going to do it, it would be better to do lateral-lower canthoplasty together.

Since it already looks a bit tearful and the lower scleral show is not small, you need to consider that bringing it down further could make it look like 삼백안 and give a worse impression. If you do upper canthoplasty, the covered part above will show more too, and in that case it can end up looking like a surprised eye, which isn’t great in some cases.. Go to several hospitals and compare.

[@] If it were me, I'd probably redo the front canthoplasty and double eyelid surgery. Ptosis correction would depend on the clinic's judgment. For eyes like that, if you want a more refreshed look, sometimes a brow lift needs to be done at the same time... If it can be solved with an incision, that would be best. If I had to do it, I'd do front canthoplasty + double eyelid surgery. But even if you redo the double eyelids now, I don't know whether it will solve the hooded eyelid issue.. It looks like you only went to one clinic, but going to at least four or five is better.

If it were me, I wouldn't do it! Right now looks the most natural. If what you want is something glamorous and you're okay with it looking a little obvious, then maybe you could do it, but I prefer natural beauty, so I wouldn't do it! Don't get too greedy with cosmetic surgery, everyone!

But in my current situation, it might just be an illusion that doesn’t suit me. Even knowing that, I couldn’t give it up. If you had a recessed chin, what would you do? Some people talk about chin advancement surgery, some about orthodontics, some about fillers, and it seems like each option has its own side effects. The best thing is probably to give up greed and live with the face you have, right?

I don’t know your condition, so I can’t say for sure But if you have a retruded chin, I’d personally consider filler or an implant first! Surgery that cuts bone, like advancement surgery, is hard to reverse, but filler or an implant could be removed. And I hope you look around carefully, focusing on places with board-certified specialists, before deciding!

If you do the outer lower canthoplasty, I think it would be pretty. Your eyes are big too, so just a little bit, not overdoing it.

Whether it’s ptosis correction or canthoplasty, set everything else aside and just slightly raise the line into an in-out line? I had incisional surgery, and because my Mongolian fold is quite thick, I think non-incisional probably won’t work and I’ll need incisional surgery! Honestly, I’m thinking maybe I should get another consultation from a different plastic surgery clinic. To be honest, I didn’t expect them to suggest opening all four sides!

For canthoplasty, just lateral opening would probably look pretty, and ptosis correction feels unnecessary to me I don't think the problem is that the eyes don't open, but that the crease is being covered. As far as I know, revision incisional surgery removes the skin that covers it like that, and I think just that would already make a big difference!!

[@wonder2] Yes, that's right. "Covered lid line" is the correct expression. I was thinking I wanted the line just a little higher and for my eyes to look brighter. So your opinion is that it would be better to skip the double-eyelid correction and just do an incision procedure and some canthoplasty, right?

The skin on the upper eyelid? looks a bit loose, but did you not mention that at the clinic??? Because the skin is covering it, it doesn’t feel like you had double eyelid surgery at all.

[@깡찍이] Right? The double eyelid fold is tucked so tightly into the skin that I even wondered if it really is a double eyelid. They didn’t mention anything about the part that looks like the skin is sagging! But they said that because the Mongolian fold is thick, in cases like this, if you only redo the double eyelid, it’s hard to improve the part that looks stuffy! I had heard that opinion at the hospital I went to before too, so it made sense. What was a little confusing was that the opinion about canthoplasty was a bit different from the hospitals I had visited so far! So I asked everyone here, and I’m glad I did!

No need for canthoplasty,, Especially the lateral lower one, since it already looks a bit sad, it seems like it would sag even more. If you only need the upper one, do it, otherwise it's probably fine not to.

I said the habit of opening my eyes with my forehead has gotten much better. They said that because I have a thick Mongolian fold, if I only do a regular double eyelid surgery, the stuffy and sleepy look won’t improve. They said upper canthoplasty had already come up at the places I consulted before, so I had somewhat expected that.

What they recommend could mean either that you need to pay more, or that you really do need it a bit more. Then it seems like incision only for the upper canthoplasty would be enough. You said you don't want it to look stuffy.

I don't think you really need the canthoplasty..! I think just raising the double-eyelid line a little more would be better??
