My eyesight was so bad that if I took my glasses off, I couldn't find my glasses. I had severe astigmatism, so wearing regular contact lenses made me motion sick. But I was so scared of surgery that I couldn't do it even after turning 30. But I had surgery because I wanted to see the ceiling as soon as I opened my eyes. Honestly, I just got tempted by an ad and went. I tend to trust experts who focus on one field. I had previously gone to a place around Jongno that was famous for LASEK, but there they just said, without asking anything, "Do LASEK," so it felt strange. But here, they first did thorough testing and seemed to work pretty hard on designing the process. Before surgery, they said my pupils were larger than other people's, so side effects like glare and halos would definitely happen, but once I actually had the surgery, the world looked cleaner than when I was seeing with my original astigmatism^^ There is some glare at night, but I feel like that's completely fine. For about 2 days after surgery, I thought I was going to die, but after that passed, all I could think was, why did I only get this surgery now? I should've done it sooner.... It's only been 1 year, so my vision is fine, and in summer I'm trying to wear sunglasses well. I've worn glasses since elementary school, and it's fascinating that even after becoming an adult, taking off glasses can change the skeletal impression. I look a bit less nerdy. And appearance-wise, it's less bothersome and more comfortable when dressing up or doing things. Before, I calculated every day how many hours I would wear contacts for outside plans That's how bad the eye fatigue was. Now, my eyes do get bloodshot if I look at the computer for a long time, but I use artificial tears and Lacopos when they're dry, and with that I'm happy. Overall, my satisfaction is extremely high, and I want to go back to my past self who was debating and tell myself to do it as soon as possible and find the light. It was really annoying to go regularly because it's far from home, but I think it's the greatest happiness you can create with about 10 minutes of surgery + a few dozen minutes of testing + a shrinking bank balance. haha
