My mom had a brow lift and under-eye fat repositioning surgery before, you know? Back then, it definitely became much easier for her to open her eyes, and her impression looked softer too, but her upper eyelids started drooping again, and she said her eyes felt heavy. So I wondered if double eyelid surgery would work and looked into a few clinics, and we went to consultations at 3 places, including a clinic I know. My mom dislikes an artificial-looking eye shape and wanted the buried-suture method, so we went into the consultations with that in mind, but at the first clinic we visited in Gangnam, the female director looked at her eye condition and said upper blepharoplasty with ptosis correction would probably be good for her, you know? So I was like, oh..? Upper blepharoplasty..? And since the director here examined her so thoroughly, we used that consultation as a reference when we went to other clinics too, and it did seem like upper blepharoplasty would be better than double eyelid surgery. In the past, I had only heard about brow lifts and had not heard anything about upper blepharoplasty, so I did not even know this kind of surgery existed. It was a surgery we had not expected, so we looked into it a bit more carefully, and since it seemed like many adults around my mom's age get it, she eventually had the surgery haha. I had double eyelid surgery too, but middle-aged eye surgery definitely has a different direction from regular double eyelid surgery,, I simply thought, of course, droopy eyes? > Let's lift them with double eyelid surgery! That was my thought, but after hearing the explanation, I realized double eyelid surgery alone might not be enough. I listened to the consultation with my mom, helped explain things, and the director also examined her thoroughly!! Thankfully, the surgery was completed safely and went well hahaha. If you are worried because your parents' eyes are drooping, I think upper blepharoplasty is a good option! My mom is still recovering, but if you have anything to ask, ask away. I will answer as much as I know!
