Hello I'm someone struggling with overcorrection from ptosis correction / lid retraction.
First, my surgery history is: 1. Dr. Kim Dong-geol at Pop: 4-5 years ago, buried-suture double eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty and upper canthoplasty I was extremely satisfied. Even though it was my first surgery, it was done by the head doctor and I added epicanthoplasty/upper canthoplasty, so I think it was close to 3 million won. Even though it was the buried-suture method, it seems like he fixes it somewhat deeply? The swelling lasted a bit long.. The line was pretty, and I was so satisfied at the time.
But about 3 years after my first surgery, the strength to open one eye became weaker, so opening my eyes became uneven. (At that time, I don't think it was lid retraction; it just felt like one side was weak.)
So I decided on revision surgery, and while looking at the Gangnam Unni app, I heard that ㅂㅇㅇ was famous for revision surgery, so I went for a consultation right away. Everyone there was kind, and I thought, huh, the price is cheap! and I ended up lying on the operating table right away.. Ha... I still regret how young I was and how I rushed into it without knowing anything.
At first, I wanted ptosis correction on only one eye. The hospital said that because of Hering's law, if I only did one side, it could become uneven again, so they recommended doing both sides. (Non-incisional ptosis correction) ▶ Hering's law?? Aha, I see, okay then I'll do both sides. That's how it happened..ㅜ I'm such an idiot.
As a result, they performed ptosis correction on the eye that had been fine (it had good opening strength), and I ended up with overcorrection + lid retraction / the eye that had weak opening strength became even weaker. I had surgery to correct how my eyes opened, but in the end it got worse. And the overcorrected eye is freaking uncomfortable. I also developed lagophthalmos. If I close my eyes without using force, it doesn't close all the way. Since I didn't know anything, I thought it was swelling after surgery and waited, but it wasn't because of swelling, and time just passed like that. After that, to correct it: 1. At another hospital, I had non-incisional ptosis correction once more only on the weak eye (Banana)/ 2. At yet another hospital, they removed all the ptosis correction and buried double eyelid sutures, then did revision double eyelid surgery while applying ptosis correction only on the left side (incisional) (Lee & Lee) ▶ (I only recently found out this was because of overcorrection when I had my 4th eye surgery here.)
But even if you remove the sutures, the eye isn't going to return to normal. Eyes aren't Lego.ㅋㅋㅋㅠ The lid retraction and headaches still haven't gone away, so the place that did my 4th surgery said they would do an after-service correction, but for now I'm thinking of getting consultations at ㅊㅈㅎ and ㅊㅈㅅㅁ, which are famous in this field.
Conclusion: getting it done at ㅂㅇㅇ + receiving surgery recklessly without knowing much + being too lazy to shop around and only getting a consultation at one place. I seriously regret all three. (+ The line was pretty at ㅂㅇㅇ.)
