After I ate porridge and the nurse saw that I had regained consciousness, she said we should take photos in the room next door, and while taking the photos, it was not easy for me to stand, but since it was after surgery, I thought discomfort was natural. They told me to stand sideways, so I held onto the door and took the photo, and from the moment they asked me to look straight ahead, I do not remember anything. When I woke up, I was lying face down on the floor and the nurse was startled. As I fell forward, my face hit the floor and my chin was torn open. Before that I was conscious, but I think I suddenly collapsed because the anesthesia had not fully worn off or because of the long fasting. It was not that I just tripped and fell. I was not in a fully clear state of consciousness because the anesthesia had not completely worn off / I had fasted for 18 hours / I was a patient after leg surgery. When seen on CCTV, as I fell forward, the nurse was holding the camera, and at the moment I fell, there was no one to catch me. The person taking photos at the time was a nurse, but because her role at that moment was taking photos, she could not catch me, and I think that is the hospital’s fault in a medical accident. It was torn badly enough that my jawbone was visible, so it needed suturing, but at the hospital there was one nurse and one counter staff member, and the doctor had already gone home, so I waited while they controlled the bleeding until they called the doctor. They applied pressure for hemostasis, and the next day they handed me over to the plastic surgery clinic downstairs, where it was stitched. (Actually, for sedation anesthesia, I think you only need to fast until 6 hours before surgery, so I wonder if the fact that I had even less energy because they gave me the wrong instructions was also due to incorrect guidance.) I had received a phone call the day before asking me to fast from 10, and after surgery at that time I had been fasting for 18 hours. Before surgery, I told the staff or nurse that I had no energy, and I also told them that I have orthostatic hypotension. The hospital did hand me over to the plastic surgeon, asked them to stitch it well, and seemed to be trying to handle the situation, and on the day I went to get stitched they showed some response like giving me an IV, but aside from that, going to get my chin stitched while my leg was uncomfortable from surgery was physically too much, so I feel burdened. On the day of surgery, my chin was compressed with a facial compression band, so I could not even eat properly that day.. The next day, after going to the plastic surgery clinic to get stitched and on my way home, I collapsed again on the subway...(because of the long fasting before surgery and because I could not eat properly due to the chin injury the next day) They told me to come to the plastic surgery clinic every 2 days so that it does not leave a scar, but I feel it is unfair that I have to bear things like taxi fares, mental stress, clicking sounds in my temporomandibular joint, etc. The surgery fee was a large amount, as much as 4.7 million won, so I also cannot understand how a safety accident could happen… Please give me some advice on how I should claim compensation for damages.
