I dieted and lost as much as my goal, but the fat under my chin wouldn’t go away. I realized there was no answer without help, whether surgery or a procedure, so I went around for consultations. I went to consultations everywhere, regardless of whether it was a dermatology clinic or plastic surgery clinic, and the answers I got were double-chin muscle tightening, liposuction, and fixation below the ears. The director who did my surgery checked everything with ultrasound, including superficial fat, deep fat, salivary glands, muscles, and so on. Superficial fat means subcutaneous fat. In my case, I didn’t have much superficial fat compared to other people, but the muscle layer was sagging, and I had a lot of deep fat, so they said that if I only did liposuction, I would end up with a recessed chin with an empty-looking inside. Of course the jaw would go in, but as the fat supporting the skin disappeared, they said the skin elasticity would decrease and sagging would occur. It’s been two months since my surgery, so refer to the photos below. The after-surgery photo was taken recently. I didn’t get chin-tip reduction, but the chin looking long, the neck looking short, and the sagging feeling disappeared. While going to consultations, I realized there are really many different cases. Even if you lose weight like me, your double chin can still look like it has a lot of fat, right? If you want to see effects for a long period, almost permanent to semi-permanent, I recommend muscle tightening and liposuction. Oh, and if you have a recessed chin, procedures won’t be effective, and I also recommend finishing it in one go with muscle tightening. Instead, do it after checking the condition of the deep fat and muscles. If you’re going to do it with procedures, you might need to put filler in the chin tip or spend more money on the double chin than surgery would cost. Before surgery, I was scared of anesthesia, the recovery period, and pain too, so I thought about doing a procedure instead, but just doing sedation anesthesia and finishing it in one go had a much more dramatic effect, and when I thought about doing procedures multiple times, surgery was better cost-wise too. It’s just my personal opinion, but my friend also agreed.
