<Consultation review written to help with information>
It’s not severe, but even when I look at my bare face and my face with makeup on, my under-eyes seem to be getting more sunken, and my dark circles are so bad that I looked into plastic surgery and went up to Seoul for consultations!
Common points from all three clinics: The surgery does not necessarily improve dark circles, pigmentation, etc.; it is a surgery that makes the darkness caused by shadowing from protruding fat look less shadowed by flattening it + diagnosis of my eye condition (relatively little fat around the eyes)
1. Soonplus Plastic Surgery (Kim Eung-sam) -> Event price 1.35 million KRW
- The doctor said that in the past, he performed under-eye fat surgery as a procedure that filled in fat, but from 3-4 years ago, he started changing to a new surgical method. Because of this, I did think he might be a sincere doctor. (But after getting consultations elsewhere too, it seemed like these days everyone proceeds with this kind of surgical method.)
- He lowers the fat downward and tightens the loosened muscle by tying it firmly. He explained that it changed to a procedure method suited for younger people.
- He was the only one who recommended repositioning only. He said even if I do it, it is better to do things step by step! He recommended only repositioning because many people try repositioning first, are satisfied, and do not separately do fat grafting, and because once fat is grafted and takes, it is difficult to remove!
2. Woori Plastic Surgery (Kim Sung-chan) -> Event price 1.08 million + fat grafting 640,000 KRW (1st round)
- There are several reasons why it looks dark, but nothing can be done about the color; the under-eye fat should be lowered, and since I have relatively little fat around the eyes, it has to be filled with micro-fat grafting.
- He recommends fat grafting to only about 2 out of 10 people, and I am one of them. (He lightly pressed the fat under the groove and showed how the under-eye groove filled in, and it definitely changed dramatically, so it made me consider fat grafting.) There is a separate cost for the second fat grafting session.
- He told me only exactly what was necessary. (Maybe because of that, I saw other reviews saying he seemed insincere, but I didn’t really feel that he was insincere!)
- Since Soonplus said fat removal after grafting is difficult, I asked here, and they said fat removal is possible, so I wondered, what’s going on?
3. Objet Plastic Surgery (Jang Wook) -> Event price 1.1 million + fat grafting 1.1 million (under-eye + including anterior cheek)
- The doctor’s first impression was a bit unique. He was the only one who used a tablet pencil instead of a cotton swab to touch my face.
- The director primarily recommended repositioning, and if I was not satisfied with the hollowness afterward, he recommended single fat grafting. (He said they add an enzyme to the harvested fat to make the fat granules? cells? smaller, making it less lumpy than micro-fat grafting.)
- Put the eye fat inward, reposition it downward, and do single fat grafting into the sunken groove. (For now, he recommended repositioning first, and said it is my choice, but because there is some visible hollowness, doing them together would also be okay.)
- Additionally, he recommended fat grafting to the anterior cheekbone area too. If I only do repositioning, it will be tidied up, but although my cheekbones are not low, my anterior cheeks (the area next to the nose) are relatively low, so from far away the triangular zone is visible. So some people do it together. If done, it can make you look younger. (He showed me before-and-after photos of someone similar to me, and from far away, there was indeed a slight low area in the triangular zone. So I understood what he meant by recommending it.)
- After the first grafting, the second grafting within 3 months is free.
- The consultant seemed proud of the clinic’s tradition and skill in under-eye fat repositioning. She said the recurrence rate is low, and retouching is also possible after 6 months.
In conclusion, I definitely think fat grafting would be good for me, so I’m debating between Woori or Objet. If anyone around you has done it, or if you’ve done it yourself and were satisfied, please recommend!!
