As of today, I’ve entered week 2 after jaw surgery. Time felt like it would never pass, but it still did, and now it’s been 2 weeks.. Sometimes it feels like the surgery was a dream. Today was the day to remove the stitches and get my last swelling care treatment, so I headed to the hospital early. I guess I felt reassured because there were lots of posts saying intraoral stitches were unexpectedly not painful. But when they removed my intraoral stitches.. tears were streaming down.. I screamed...ㅜ.ㅡ I usually endured even when the blood drain was removed and when they stitched me up without showing any sign of pain, but seriously, this hurt more than the surgery.. The stitches behind my ears didn’t hurt either... So why this~!!! According to the nurse, because I didn’t gargle diligently around the front stitched area, it bled, and it probably hurt a little more than for other people (that was not “a little”...ㅜ.ㅡ I thought the nurse was tearing the inside of my mouth with scissors.) The stitches on both sides were tolerable, but when they removed the front chin stitches, I almost cursed at the nurse ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Anyone planning to get V-line surgery or who just had it recently.. please gargle a lot in the front. I did it diligently on both sides, but I guess I didn’t do the front well. In the end, I bled, so I had to hold cotton in my mouth for a while. Fortunately, there was no inflammation or anything, and I’m recovering well, but they said I still have about 20% more swelling than other people. Then to the swelling care room.. go go... Ah, I was happiest when receiving swelling care..ㅜ.ㅜ Since surgery, I’ve gone to the hospital a total of 3 times, and including the day of surgery, I received swelling care a total of 4 times. They did a pack for me.. and cleansing too.. I’m not sure what other hospitals are like, but maybe I was lucky with the nurse; I loved the delicate feeling of her touching my face, so I slept every time..ㅡ.ㅡ This time I brought some bottled drinks when I went, to say thank you...ㅎㅎ I felt so sad that it was the last swelling care treatment...ㅠ.ㅠ Now all that’s left is going to the hospital in a month. After finishing all the hard journeys and coming home, regardless of the effect, I just feel relaxed and good. There is still enough swelling that it feels awkward. Especially around my mouth.. Should I say it sticks out like Kim Gu-ra’s chin.. The swelling around my mouth and chin isn’t going down well. Other than that, it’s about the same. Still, even though it’s swollen, I can feel my face becoming slimmer. But I’m worried that once the swelling goes down, my cheekbones might look more prominent. My gums were already weak, but maybe because of the surgery they got even weaker, so on my way home I stopped by the pharmacy and bought gum medicine. Did other people also buy and take gum medicine after surgery? I feel like I won’t be able to go to the dentist for a while, so I’m going to take it in advance to prevent problems. My teeth are still tingling... and my gums are throbbing. If there’s anything that changed after surgery.. Well, the swelling still hasn’t gone down, so whether I got prettier or not, I don’t know. But you definitely lose weight. I’ve lost 3 kg so far. And I don’t know about other people, but rather than doing it to become prettier, I really did it because it was a complex for me. Once I think that my complex is gone, I’m happy even if I can’t eat and happy even if it hurts. I think my mindset has changed. Seriously, people who haven’t experienced this wouldn’t know.. On hot summer days, because I had to cover my jaw, I couldn’t even tie my hair up and had to wear it down.. On windy days, I’d keep my head down and curse the weather... When my boyfriend tried to kiss me and brushed my hair back, even if he tried to touch my cheek, I’d slap his hand away! and before my face shape was exposed, I had to do it first... Always only being able to have one hairstyle that covers the jaw... that sadness. So whenever I was suffering after surgery, I imagined it. Imagining buying pretty headbands and earrings~~~ It feels good to think I don’t have to go through that anymore. I’m curious about something from people who had surgery around the same time... The hospital told me that now that it’s been 2 weeks, I shouldn’t do warm compresses or wear the compression band anymore. They said there’s not much meaning even if I do.. And they told me not to eat a lot. Do other hospitals say that too? ㅡ,.ㅡ; All the way home, I kept thinking.. Why did they tell me not to eat a lot? Do I look fat... I’m curious what other hospitals say~ Please leave replies.
