After 10 minutes of consultation with the nurse and 13 minutes with the surgeon, I changed right away, then had another 5-minute consultation with the nurse before entering the operating room. In the operating room, we discussed the design for about 2 minutes and then went straight into surgery. I had seen many posts saying that consultation lasted over 30 minutes, so I felt a little disappointed. But everyone on the nurse side was very kind, and it was good that the surgeon also checked me directly in recovery right after surgery and on the day of stitch removal as well. So far there have been no side effects, and it was good that even right after surgery there was no major swelling or bruising. I had been told that because I have sunken eyes and a relatively small eye size I might not be able to open widely, so I had some expectation of this. Still, I was still a little disappointed. It is a difference only I can tell, but I feel a bit nicer somehow, and for that reason I’m satisfied. Certainly right after surgery, because of swelling, both the upper eyelid surgery and the lower canthoplasty felt more open. As time passed and swelling decreased, it seemed to have come back a little.
