I saw an event on Babitalk for a first rhinoplasty at 1.45 million KRW, applied for a consultation, and visited, but they charged each item separately for material costs + various correction fees (nasolabial angle, bulbous nose, etc.). Was bulbous nose correction 550,000 KRW? The total estimate came out to 6.05 million KRW. I knew the surgery cost wasn’t actually 1.45 million KRW, and I had known for a long time that it was expensive, but after going around to other hospitals for consultations, I realized this place was absurdly expensive. Since I have a small nose + bulbous nose, they connected me with an experienced director, but if I was worried about the cost, they said they would do it in the 3 million KRW range if I booked with a director who was looking for a partial model. They said that if I proceeded with surgery within June, the director who consulted with me could adjust the price from 6.05 million KRW down to 5.10 million KRW, but subtly pressured me by saying it could only proceed that way if I paid a deposit. They say hospitals can name whatever price they want, but I wonder why they would make it cheaper only if I go with a different director instead of the one I consulted with. And even if I did proceed, I don’t trust that a director other than the one I consulted with could design my nose well to suit my face, so I don’t get that definite feeling of “I should do it here.”
