I seriously had tiny, clam-like eyes to the point that even my family said they were severe .. Because of my eyes, I developed really bad appearance-related anxiety, and I was seriously at the point of thinking about using superglue to make double eyelids. First of all, functionally it was hopeless too because of ptosis and entropion. People around me also said, “You’d be fine if you just got your eyes done,” and I really felt hard how one facial feature, the eyes, could make someone’s appearance anxiety this severe. Double-eyelid tape didn’t work on me either, so I used double-eyelid glue for almost 7 years,, Even when I went somewhere, or just to the convenience store, outside my house, or out to smoke, I always made sure to put on double-eyelid glue before leaving. Then this time I decided to get eye surgery, so I went to the hospital where my cousin had surgery. It was my very first time getting plastic surgery, so there was a lot I didn’t know and I was really awkward, but the consultant was kind, and the doctor came out right after finishing surgery, so he must have been tired, but he listened carefully to everything I said and found an appropriate balance while considering the look I wanted and the harmony with the other parts of my face,, I like a style between natural-glam and glamorous, but other hospitals said it would be difficult. But here, the director confidently said my eyes would change really dramatically if I did it, so I trusted him, looked around a few more hospitals, and booked right away. In conclusion, I’m now 1 month post-op. I usually don’t wear eye makeup, but that day I did because I was meeting my boyfriend,, hehe. I had everything done by incision, and because I was busy I only drank some pumpkin juice and couldn’t really do warm/cold compresses properly, but the swelling went down really well. People around me are already telling me a lot that I look prettier and different, and it feels like my self-esteem is really going up? My appearance-related anxiety was so severe that I even considered psychiatry, so maybe that’s why my satisfaction after surgery is high. It came out exactly as the face/look I wanted. Personally, I don’t think I’ve seen many people change more dramatically than me, like “huh lol who are you?” I’m not recommending surgery or anything, but if it’s truly a complex, I feel like full eye tuning is worth trying, seriously .. ^^
