Teacher Kim Gwirak.. Even if you don’t know his face, I think anyone who has done some online research because of rhinoplasty has probably seen his name at least once. When I was looking into facial contouring a lot, his name was mentioned so often as being very famous as a nose master at that well-known brown plastic surgery clinic, so I thought that if I ever went for a nose consultation, I definitely had to see Teacher Gwirak.. Since the clinic he opened specializes only in noses, I thought that worked out well and went for a consultation, but the consultation fell completely short of my expectations..
From the way he spoke, it already didn’t sound like he was speaking to a patient. The subtly irritating casual speech from the start made me uncomfortable, and the way he forced me to use the material he had already decided on, which seemed like simply the easiest for him to operate with, was also unpleasant.. I didn’t feel considered at all. Without any specific consultation, it was just like, trust me and leave it to me because I’ll take care of it and make it pretty for your face.
What made me most uncomfortable was that he said I seemed like a patient with depression, so I was scary.. I had come from the morning, holding back sleepiness just to talk with the director for about 15 minutes? But since I felt from the very first words that we didn’t match, I just gave half-hearted answers to what he was rambling about and left it at that.. I guess that looked like a mental illness to him. He said people like me, whose speech has no energy and who look depressed, seem like they would later develop depression and stay shut in at home for a year if he operated on them for no reason. He talked as if he knew everything and asked if I had any mental illness. And he said he would be scared if he operated on me for no reason…
I felt really bad, but I just didn’t even want to deal with him face to face, so I gave a hollow laugh and let it pass.. I had absolutely no intention of getting surgery there anyway, so I guess it worked out. Looking at reviews, his skill seems okay, but no matter what, if his character is like that, I think it would be hard to trust him and leave it to him.. Just because he’s old doesn’t mean he gets to speak carelessly to younger people. He seems like someone without basic manners.
