I had surgery this Tuesday morning.. Since I’ve given birth to two kids, I’m the kind of body where most surgeries don’t even make me flinch... Even taking the subway in the morning, I was just calm.. I was fine until I got to the hospital and undressed and the doctor was designing the areas... but once I got into the operating room and was wearing only a T-panty and they were applying red antiseptic front and back to disinfect me... I got so cold and goosebumps covered me that I suddenly got scared.. Anyway.. after the sleep anesthesia wore off, I think I walked to the recovery room.. It took two hours for the anesthesia to wear off, and since I’m usually extremely weak with alcohol, even after waking up I was still dizzy. After two hours my mind came back too.. I could walk around, so I called a taxi and came home. The pain was.. almost none.. I just felt a little cramped because I was wrapped tightly in compression bandages.. And they said the IV fluids were all done after surgery, so not much came out.. The problem was.. I kept feeling like I needed to pee.. Maybe the remaining fluids were coming out as urine, but I felt like I needed to go almost every 10 minutes.. It lasted until dawn the next day. That part was the hardest. The first day I got through it well with my mother’s help.. But with two kids..ㅠㅠ From the next day it got much harder. Especially because I use my arms and hands a lot.. the leg swelling was tolerable, but my arms and hands swelled so much they felt like they’d burst. Today is day 3... from this evening it feels like it’s going down a bit.. Still, it’s bearable.. If I can get slim from this level of pain, I’d do it several more times...ㅋ For reference, I’m 166 cm and weighed 57 kg.. Because I’ve exercised regularly, my body fat percentage wasn’t high, but most of the fat was concentrated in my thighs, saddlebags, and upper arms.. So clothes didn’t fit nicely and I looked bulky.. When I removed the bandages and had the disinfection the day after surgery, the saddlebags were cleaned up really neatly.. My thighs don’t seem to have gotten as much smaller as I expected, and the doctor says they’ll slim down more... so I’ll have to wait and see.. But when I look in the compression garment, they do seem a lot smaller.. My arms have also gotten much thinner... What I’m curious about is: once the swelling goes down later, will it come out around the same line as the compression garment shape now? Liposuction.. as I heard, seems like aftercare is more important than the surgery itself.. I haven’t had other surgeries, but in terms of pain or discomfort, it doesn’t seem like such a hard surgery.. There’s no visible sign on the outside, and I did it secretly from my husband. ㅋ But after surgery, I’m craving food so much.. I’ll have to be extra careful... Starting next week, I plan to slowly start exercising again. I haven’t gotten the photos from the hospital yet, but when I do, I’ll post before and after shots..
