I was diagnosed with a deviated septum, inferior turbinate issues, and nasal valve issues at three hospitals. This will be my third time having surgery. During the second surgery, my septum became deviated, my nostrils show, and they even shoved AlloDerm into the left side without telling me, so the shape looks strange too. I’m planning to do it together with functional rhinoplasty, and everyone said to do it at a plastic surgery clinic. Last time I had consultations at two places; one was a large ENT hospital, but there was a lot of controversy around it, so I passed. The other plastic surgery clinic also had a lot of talk around it, so I passed too (a one-character hospital name). I’ve narrowed it down to four places now: two board-certified plastic surgeons, and two one-doctor ENT specialists. Should I do it at a plastic surgery clinic? My septum has collapsed, so one nostril barely has any airway. But if aesthetics are more important, then it should be plastic surgery, right?
rosd간연 If you need all 3 functional procedures, I think a place that can collaborate with ENT might be better. It’s too XXX to ignore the functional part.
꺄꿍꺄꿍 [@rosd간연] There are almost no places that collaborate with ENT. I don’t want to go to a factory-style large hospital
2다정2 In my case... if nasal valve surgery was included at a plastic surgery clinic, private insurance wouldn’t reimburse it, so I only did 2 types.
꺄꿍꺄꿍 [@2다정2] I only want to do the deviated septum, but they said inferior turbinate surgery can cause empty nose syndrome, so I’m hesitating a bit... But three places mentioned the nasal valve. Would they do it without the nasal valve?
꺄꿍꺄꿍 [@2다정2] But even for functional surgery, the price varies wildly by hospital. The place I went to was in the 4 million won range for the 3 functional proceduresㅡㅡ That’s why I was determined to get reimbursed as functional rhinoplasty. This time I’ll go to a few other places, and if it’s a plastic surgery clinic, I’ll ask them to leave out the nasal valve. Thank you for the detailed explanation ^^
꺄꿍꺄꿍 [@2다정2] Thank you, everyone here!♡
