I’m 29 years old this year. I had the surgery at a hospital in Apgujeong. For jaw + cheekbone surgery, I paid a little under 10 million won in cash. I had it done with a minimal-incision approach, but because my asymmetry was quite severe, they made one opening under my chin and two upper and two lower openings inside my mouth, so 5 openings in total. It has been 2 months now. I had surgery on 7/25, and since I’m an office worker, while I took 9 days off, the major swelling went down and my face went back to looking human, so I went back to work... But I think anyone planning jaw + cheekbone surgery should expect about a month. I went through so much. -_- At first, I was upset because my face didn’t seem that different, but these are old photos taken at the hospital before surgery~ There is quite a big difference, but honestly, I’m not sure about the cheekbones -_- I didn’t like my 45-degree cheekbones, but even now they don’t seem to have reduced much. The doctor says my face is completely flat, so he preserved the anterior cheekbones, but for now, since not all the swelling has gone down yet, I plan to watch it and talk about it later~ The after-surgery photos were taken with my phone just now, so the image quality isn’t good lol As for satisfaction after surgery, rather than saying I saw a dramatic effect, it’s just so-so... I think it turned out well, but honestly, for me it’s just so-so haha I had non-fixation cheekbone surgery, so they told me to be more careful than others after surgery, but honestly, chewy foods lol I really couldn’t hold back, so I did eat them~ Holding back from eating was really the hardest, and as someone who washes my hair bent forward, washing my hair standing up before going to work in the morning was really distressing... It also took a lot of time ㅡㅡ; Most of all, the hardest thing was not being able to sleep on my side and having to sleep lying straight on my back. It was hard for me too, but the people around me watching it really pitied me. ㅡㅜ For 1 month, I could barely open my mouth, couldn’t speak properly, my mouth was crooked, and my face throbbed as if it were breathing, like it had a heart attached to it ㅜㅜ Now that it has been 2 months, I can open my mouth enough to fit two fingers, my crooked lips have recovered a lot, and because of the swelling inside my mouth (because of the stitches), when I talk, laugh, or smile, one side still goes up, so it looks awkward... They say it takes about 6 months for facial expressions to become natural. My face didn’t have much fat, so when I went back to work after surgery, most people at the company (it’s a large corporation, so there are a lot of people in the department) thought I had facial fat grafting, and I just indirectly said I had gone on a trip, got hurt, and my face swelled up... But everyone believed it ㅡ,.ㅡ Anyway, if my face gets a lot better, I’m also thinking about M-shaped hairline correction.... In a way, it could be called an addiction, but from what I’ve felt after living until now, I really feel that appearance is very important... The saying that if you’re pretty, everything is forgiven... I really don’t think it’s a joke haha If your eyes, nose, and mouth are average, I think it may be better to invest in your face shape rather than investing in those areas, in my humble opinion~~ ^^* After even getting hairline correction, not covering my face with bangs and trying a hairstyle like Jun Ji-hyun’s is my small wish~ ^^* Above before surgery Below after surgery
