At the first consultation, he was enthusiastic and consulted me thoroughly. He did not explain important things like what materials he would use, why he would use them, or the surgery process. He only said relatively unimportant things, like that since my nose was originally tilted to the left, he would place it so it would tilt to the right, and that I shouldn’t drink alcohol for six months. I was young, knew nothing, and it was my first surgery, so I hastily made a reservation.
On the day of surgery, I was trying to get a pre-op consultation, But unlike on the first day, when he had been so diligent, he wouldn’t listen to me at all, and even when I showed him the nose photos I wanted, he didn’t look at them. He kept shifting his body like he wanted to get into the operating room quickly.
They advertise that they can change the nose shape while surgery is underway, but in reality the nose is so swollen that ordinary people like me can’t really tell. They say they give an injection to reduce swelling and then look at the nose while it’s not swollen, but even with the injection the nose is still extremely swollen, so I couldn’t tell.
They confidently advertised that they do surgery without side effects, but I had many side effects. Silicone show-through, crooked nasal bridge silicone, asymmetry of the nasal tip, severe movement of the nasal bridge silicone, I requested a revision because of these side effects. When I booked the surgery, they said their clinic would usually handle revisions, but when I actually requested one, they refused. The reason they gave for refusing was that my nose had originally been tilted to the right. At the first consultation, they clearly said my nose was tilted to the left and that they would place it to tilt to the right, but then they lied and showed me a mirrored photo, claiming my nose had originally been tilted to the right. I didn’t expect them to lie so openly with a mirrored photo even though there is a mole on my right cheek.
Even after the swelling went down, the side effects got worse, so I requested a revision again six months later. But the female manager looked at me and said, “This level is fine, isn’t it?” That probably means there were many people worse off than me, since the reviews only say that everything was crooked. In the end, the doctor touched my nose, realized how serious it was, and without saying anything offered a revision for 200,000 won.
But in the end, the doctor still kept lying that my nose had originally been tilted to the right, and because of the ridiculous things the female manager said, I decided to have the revision done at another hospital.
When I looked into revision at another hospital, there were many people saying that reoperation would be difficult because AlloDerm had been used at the nasal tip. Hardly any place uses AlloDerm in the first surgery, but here they seem to like it. There’s nothing good said about AlloDerm, since it’s even described as a material doctors use to make surgery easier, so I don’t understand why they use it so often.
