I went in just to get double eyelid surgery,
but they said my eyelids looked sunken and brought up fat grafting.
They said it was a simple procedure, so I had it done, but I ended up suffering from side effects..
At first, it was just lumpy and I could feel something when touching it,
but gradually I started feeling a foreign-body sensation when opening my eyes, and later there was pain,
and I even got a stye, which I had never had in my life.
The hospital where I had the surgery would not admit any fault and did nothing for me,
so after visiting many places, I had removal surgery through an incision at another clinic, and it has been 18 days now..
I considered injections or liposuction too, but the university hospital did not recommend injections..
They also said a lot of adhesions could form with liposuction, and there were many different opinions,
so I thought it would be safer to look directly and remove it through an incision, so I had incisional surgery..
But the scar is much more visible than I expected, and it is distressing.
I thought it would be right under the lower line of the eyebrow, but it is too far away,
and although they said it would be a minimal incision, it is bigger than I expected, so these days have been hard.
Scars do fade gradually, but honestly, they cannot become completely invisible. That is why they make the incision under the eyebrow so it is less noticeable.
I think mine is lower than I expected..
When I told the hospital, they said it was not low, that they matched it to the area where my eyebrow hair grows, and that if they did it higher, eyebrow hair would not grow there.
How does it look objectively to everyone?
For now the swelling is uneven and the wound area still hurts, but I assume those will get better. But the wound.. of course I will use scar ointment and Mepiform later, but doesn't it seem like it will be quite noticeable..
I also developed headaches, which has been hard. The hospital says it is a surgical issue, so there is no way the surgery could cause headaches.. but I developed headaches after the surgery.. Has anyone had headaches after incisional eye surgery (not ptosis correction) and then gotten better..
I am wondering whether I should see an ophthalmologist or a neurologist.. I had surgery because I was suffering because of the fat grafting, but now I am suffering from something else again, and it is hard.
