First of all, since I’m someone who has had nose surgery alone for the fourth time, I’m confident that I know more than most people now lol This surgery was cosmetic, so of course the external appearance was important, but I think it also focused a lot on fixing the inside of my nose that had been damaged by previous surgeries, so I wanted to give some tips? to people looking into functional rhinoplasty. First, there are several types of rhinitis. Some people simply have allergic rhinitis, and some have obstruction because of a deviated septum, so checking properly is essential!! Of course, the hospital also needs to identify the cause well and operate accordingly, and it’s important that the director knows whichever side of this well. You should definitely know that functional rhinoplasty does not fix allergic rhinitis. In my case, the central axis of my nose was crooked, so I couldn’t breathe through one side, which meant I absolutely had to do functional rhinoplasty together. I can never say that a certain region, a certain person, a plastic surgery clinic, or an ENT is good, because I also kept going to doctors who were said to be good, and still ended up having a fourth surgery.ㅜㅜ The place where I had surgery, It’s B, checked the condition of my nose with an endoscope and CT during the consultation, and the director explained the parts I was concerned about and the reasons breathing was difficult in an easy-to-understand way while drawing pictures. Since I asked everything I was curious about, the consultation with the director alone was about 30-40 minutes? The price was a bit high, but luckily functional rhinoplasty was eligible for reimbursement through private medical insurance, and they said they could give some discount for the cosmetic rhinoplasty part. On top of that, the manager said she was also going to have surgery there soon lol That matched my style lol In my case, my nose was crooked and I had a deviated septum, so I had inferior turbinate reduction surgery. Cosmetically, it is becoming slimmer and coming out in the line I wanted, but whenever I breathe, there is still a bit of discomfort..ㅎ This is a bit TMI, but I get a lot of boogers inside my noseㅠ..ㅎ They can be big too, and I heard that this is normal after inferior turbinate functional nose surgery, but I can’t touch the ones that form inside;; ㅎ.. So when I said it felt stuffy, the hospital said they would remove them for me, and it felt refreshing. After getting them removed, my breathing got a bit better. In another month, it will be about three months since the surgery, and they said by then the swelling in my nose should improve a lot and my breathing should get even better, so I’m looking forward to it. Right now this is my 2-month progress~ It’s really important to take lots and lots of progress photos. That way it’s easy to compare with before surgery and see whether it turned out well!!
