I got a lot of information from reading consultation-review posts here, so I’m posting this in case it helps someone else too! I think I did more than 10 hours of online research, and from those I narrowed it down to 4 clinics and went there. For the first two clinics, I consulted about both eyes and nose, and for the other two, I didn’t consult about the nose! First, for the eyes, I said I wanted double eyelids, epicanthoplasty + if possible lateral and lower canthoplasty too (because I wanted my eyes to feel wider horizontally), and that when I open my eyes I end up using my forehead, which makes my eyebrows keep moving, so I wanted that corrected. I also said I was concerned about asymmetrical eyes and thick eyelids. For the nose, I said I absolutely did not want implants, and I also wanted to avoid using cartilage if possible. So at the end when I asked questions, I always asked about tip cartilage tying and alar reduction. 1. ㅇㄴㅂ (ㅝㅓㅣ) Eyes: Dr. ㅈㅊㅎ - Incisional double eyelid surgery, ptosis correction, slight epicanthoplasty - Line: should be set as an in-out line; since there is fat in the eyelids, if it’s made too high it will look like a sausage - Lateral canthoplasty: no space - Lower canthoplasty: because my lower eyelashes point slightly upward, they said lower canthoplasty could cause entropion, so they did not recommend it Nose: Dr. ㅊㅁㄱ - Tip: septal cartilage, ear cartilage (open approach) - Bridge: implant for the nasal bridge; if I really hate implants, filler is also possible - The middle height of the nose is fine, but the starting point of the bridge is slightly low - There is a slight tip droop (which is why septal cartilage and ear cartilage would be used to support it) - They said cartilage tying would probably not be very effective, and alar reduction was not recommended - The reason they explained the bridge too is that if the tip is raised, the difference from the starting height of the bridge becomes greater Overall (aftercare, CCTV, etc.) - CCTV viewing not available (the clinic does have CCTV, but it is only for submission if a legal issue arises) - Swelling laser is provided as a free service, but injections cost extra - 3-year AS/warranty (only for objective issues; personal dissatisfaction does not qualify) - They do have trainee doctors, but they do not perform surgery, only observe. They said they obtain patient consent if observation takes place - I liked that the nose doctor explained things while drawing on my nose photo with a pencil 2. ㅇㅍ (ㅔㅣ) Eyes: Dr. ㄴㅇㅈ - Incisional, ptosis correction, epicanthoplasty, fat removal above the eyes - Both eyes lack opening strength, but the left eye is weaker than the right - Non-incisional surgery is possible, but they said my eyes are more likely to loosen again - Line: they would make an in-line; they said it can be set low, but setting it just a little higher would leave no regrets. Still, if I wanted a low line, it was possible - Since the distance between my eyebrows is not that long, the epicanthoplasty should not be overdone - Lower canthoplasty: no space, risk of entropion, and even if done it would not have much effect - Because there is fat in the eyelids, some should be removed (they said not directly above the eye, but from the diagonal area toward the outer corner) Nose: Dr. ㅎㅈㅁ - Tip: non-open approach (using septal cartilage) - They did not say anything about the bridge - Cartilage tying and alar reduction not recommended Overall (CCTV, aftercare) - Surprisingly, the consultation here was short, so I couldn’t ask as many questions as at the first clinic.. Still, I feel like I heard everything I needed to hear - The doctor was younger than I expected - Regeneration laser was a free service, and injections were prescribed by the doctor - CCTV viewing available + guardian can watch in real time too - 1-year AS/warranty After going to those two clinics on the first day, I decided I should not get nose surgery. I had thought I just wanted alar reduction and tip cartilage tying without using implants or cartilage, but both the coordinators and the doctors at both clinics said that if that’s the case, it’s better not to do it at all. My nose isn’t even that bad, so I decided to just live with the nose I have ^^; 3. ㅂㅇㅇ(ㅡㅣㅔ) Eyes: Dr. ㄱㅌㅎ - Natural adhesion, ptosis correction, epicanthoplasty - The reason they recommended natural adhesion is that I’m still young (20 years old, 19 in international age), and if it were done with incision, there would be no guarantee it would never loosen later, and since this is my first surgery, it might be better to stay conservative - Line: in-line - Fat removal probably not necessary - Lower canthoplasty not recommended, risk of entropion Overall (CCTV, aftercare) - When setting the eye line, they carefully measured with a ruler and set it meticulously in the order of 6 mm, 7 mm, 8 mm - CCTV viewing available - I can’t remember the AS policy.. - My impression is that ㅂㅇㅇ seems to specialize in natural adhesion. From the reviews to the photos in the clinic’s promotional booklet, almost everything was natural adhesion. At the time, I wanted natural adhesion if possible, so I didn’t mind much 4. ㄷㄹ(ㅡㅣㅁ) Eyes: Dr. ㅇㅇㄴ - Burial method, ptosis correction, epicanthoplasty - Reason for recommending the burial method: I’m young, there’s no guarantee that incision won’t loosen later, and since it’s my first surgery, it might be better to stay conservative - Line: in-line - Lower canthoplasty not recommended, risk of entropion - Not going to remove fat; they said the fat decreases as you get older - Ptosis correction would be done only on the left side to match the amount of black iris showing with the right side Nose: I didn’t meet the doctor, I only asked the coordinator - They said my current nose is already not bad enough, and that cartilage tying and alar reduction would not have much effect, so they did not recommend them - Since I’m still young, as baby fat goes away, my nose will supposedly become a little slimmer than it is now? The coordinator said she was that kind of case Overall (CCTV, aftercare) - I forgot to ask about CCTV.. - If it loosens within 1 year, it’s free; within 3 years, 50? within 5 years, 70? I don’t remember the exact prices, but the free AS turned into paid AS in the order of 1, 3, and 5 years - I wanted to improve both eyes’ opening strength and the eyebrow movement, but they said they would only do ptosis correction on the left, which made me think, huh? Maybe because I said I wanted to improve asymmetrical eyes...but other than that, the consultation was fine! At all 4 clinics, the coordinators were kind, and I think all 4 asked for a reservation deposit, but there was no pressure! All 4 clinics had event pricing applied (ㅇㄴㅂ, ㅇㅍ, and ㅂㅇㅇ were for review writing/photo use, and ㄷㄹ was a referral discount!) What I learned from doing all that research and clinic visits was: 1. There are really endless numbers of plastic surgery clinics... 2. I recommend doing as much research as possible, both online and in person! I was lazy and only went to 4 clinics, but everyone should really go to at least 5 3. The surgeon’s aesthetic sense has to match your needs really well 4. Bring photos for sure!! The only thing I don’t regret is everything else, but if I could go back, I would definitely show photos...I saved them on my iPad and didn’t move them to my phone, so I just ended up being one of those people who only admires pretty female celebrities from afar.. 5. Go in after researching as much as possible online and on YouTube - not only the surgery method you want, but also exactly what kind of eyes/nose you have and what parts you want improved, so it’s easier to explain and understand during the consultation 6. You need to have a clear opinion - in my case, I was firmly against implants and also against using cartilage for the nose, and if I hadn’t had that strong stance, I think I would have just stumbled into nose surgery too and then regretted it no matter how the result turned out. And because I had a clear opinion, the doctors and coordinators could also clearly tell me that in that case, it’s better not to do it. It’s been over 2 weeks since I visited the clinics, so my memory is a bit fuzzy, but for now I wrote only the things I was most curious about while doing research here! I picked one of these clinics and had surgery yesterday, and I’m very satisfied! I hope this helps everyone when you’re researching on your own!
