It has almost been 2 weeks since my rhinoplasty. (This was my first time) It has been about 12 to 13 days. In my opinion, rhinoplasty was several times more painful than eye surgery (incisional, 5 years ago). For 5 to 6 days after surgery, I was not even a "person." My eyes were so swollen I could barely open them. I wondered whether my face would ever look human again. So... I had the splint and stitches removed on October 15. For reference, I had surgery with silicone + donated costal cartilage + ear cartilage. I originally never smoke or drink, and I followed all the precautions and personal care instructions very strictly. I paid attention to my nose recovery 24 hours a day. When I look in the mirror now, my first impression is that I look like a long-nosed nine-tailed fox. My eyes are now contributing even more to that nine-tailed-fox impression. First of all, my double eyelid has come undone. To be more precise, after rhinoplasty the line became so~~~~ thin that it turned into an inner double eyelid, and when I open my eyes, I cannot tell whether it is an inner double eyelid or whether I originally had no double eyelid at all. And the inner corners of my eyes, should I call them that? I do not know whether this is called an epicanthal fold or something else... The epicanthal fold line has become extremely long? deep? My eyes look sharp and fierce. Also, when I look straight into the mirror, the nasal tip (between the nostrils) looks prominent. When I carefully touch the entire area around my nose, all I can feel is hardness, so it feels like there is no swelling left to call swelling. The major swelling seems to have all gone down. My younger sibling saw my face after a long time and said the nasal tip looks weird... awkward... like something was pinched in, like Pinocchio. My mother is also upset but cannot really say anything, saying her daughter's impression has become worse. The day before yesterday, I visited the hospital to have the ear stitches removed, and the doctor said that he only operated on my nose and did not touch anywhere else, and asked how he could pay attention to the overall harmony as well. He added that he could not guarantee whether my double eyelid would come back or not. He says it is just because it looks awkward right now.... I do not know whether worrying like this when it has not even been 2 weeks since surgery is a waste of time or what... It feels like I gained one thing and lost ten... Since surgery I have not been able to see my upper teeth, and when I lie down to sleep, my right arm goes numb (right ear cartilage was used), so I wake up several times. I want to ask people who have had surgery. I think I will be able to endure this better if I hear from people with experience.
