If anything, it doesn’t even look obvious that I had surgery, and I think it came out the way I wanted??>In 2016, I scraped together everything I had and got rhinoplasty using autologous dermis on my nasal bridge and nasal tip The reason I used autologous dermis = I knew absolutely nothing about nasal implant materials..... While I was in that state, the doctor said autologous dermis looks natural, so I should use that I didn’t want it to look obvious that I had surgery, so I said OK But it all got absorbed to the point that it was like I had never had surgery, and my nose even gradually got shorter So it ended up worse than not having surgery at all It wasn’t like I had severe contracture like some other people, or necrosis or anything like that But the surgery I had to change the shape failed.. So, unavoidably, I looked into revision surgery, basically having to swallow the bitter pill.... At every clinic I visited for consultations, they said if I was worried about the nasal tip dropping, I should use costal cartilage They said autologous costal cartilage has a lower absorption rate than donated rib cartilage, so it would be okay But since I had already been burned once, no matter how much they explained, I just felt unsettled Honestly, I thought I’d feel anxious no matter where I did it, so I went with the place that at least said they would take responsibility Not just vague aftercare, but they said that if the nasal tip dropped within 6 months after using autologous costal cartilage, they would give me a full refund, so I trusted that and went ahead And they showed me a retouched image of what nose shape the surgery would create Seeing it once is way better than hearing it a hundred times, seriously.... This time, I used silicone and autologous costal cartilage, and corrected my bulbous nose and short nose After getting autologous costal cartilage, what I feel is that my nasal tip does feel slightly firmer than before Around week 2, there wasn’t much swelling on the nasal bridge, but the nasal tip felt tighter and more swollen..... But once I reached the one-month mark, it felt like it was getting quite natural? The shape came out even better than the retouched preview, so I like it I was also worried about the scar from harvesting the autologous costal cartilage, but it’s smaller than I expected, so I think it’ll improve if I keep getting care consistently It hasn’t been long yet, so it does feel awkward when I smile, but I’m grateful enough that my old nose changed this much Sometimes the inside of my nose feels itchy, so I really want to rub and scratch it hard with the back of my hand But since it’s revision surgery, I’m holding back and waiting..... I think this is a pretty successful revision rhinoplasty. It’s okay, right?
